The guy is an animal rights extremist and wants to allow people to sue others over what they may deem as animal suffering. He also believes that animals should not be eaten and to an extent that having farm land is bad for animals natural habitats...

Imagine the outcome if Bush had pulled in some major anti-abortion advocate to some Gov position which had no Congressional oversight (which does not mean much today) and had the authority of the Prez to "make things happen"

It would have been splashed across every newspaper and news show with how "more horrible" Bush was for doing it.......
