Hey guys,

I am getting my crankshaft sensor replaced tomorrow on a 2009 Rogue at a local shop and I was wondering if a CASE relearn is needed/necessary after the replacement. Now, because it is a stat day today the shop is closed so I can't ask them but I am in a hurry to get some answers.

As far as I know, the shop only has the Snapon modis scanner and from my research, the Modis can't do CASE relearns on imports, only on domestics.

Is the CASE relearn necessary? Are there going to be any negative effects if it isn't done? Are there any scanners that will do relearns on imports or do I have to take it to a dealership?

Any input is appreciated.

Thanks.

It's above my paygrade (hehe), but this might help.

Anytime you install a new PCM into your vehicle that you intend to run long term, you need to have the CASE relearn done. The CASE Relearn can be done by anyone with a Tech 2 scan tool, advanced snap-on scanner, or also a Dashhawk or Aeroforce Scan Gauge depending on the vehicle. It is a 5 minute procedure. The CASE relearn will not keep the vehicle from running, however it should be done within at least two weeks of installing the new PCM.

you will need it done a day or so after unless they can drive your car enough after installing it.
