Can I just pull the upper timing belt cover off with the crank angle sensor still attached, so I don't have to screw with making alignment marks and potentially screwing up my timing just to check on a belt? I'm looking in the FSM and it doesn't seem like there's anything to hold it to the camshaft itself, just the cover so it appears it can all come off as a unit... thanks.

I just unscrewed all the screws on the timing cover and pulled the CAS right out when I was changing my water pump. I just slid it back in and tightend the cover back down when I was done, though I havent started up my motor yet so.... but I think it should be ok.:D

Yeah I just left it mounted to the timing cover and just removed them both as one.

Hey Cortina-Mk1,

Did you guys ever get the car to the track, I was checking out your site and the motor looks great. I think in your other thread you said rain was stopping you from running. Well anyway good luck.:ylsuper
