The cas is directly connected to the exhaust camshaft. It has no choice but to spin. The mitsu symbol is a plastic dust cap, and it never spins?
underneath the mitsu symbol, is the other end of the CAS shaft. If it's not spinning, when the engine is cranking, then you have a problem that will not be fixed by replacing the CAS alone.
Mark the position of the cas, so you don't need to reset the timing later.Disconnect the CAS connector and pull the CAS out. People have snapped cas shafts, and snapped camshafts by not putting the front cover on properly, and bashing the cas into position using a rubber mallet.
