Hello Guys,

I have just purchased an AEM EMS system. It is the series 1 unit of the AEM EMS. The kit comes with a new trigger wheel for the CAS sensor. Does anyone have the instructions on how the wheel needs to be changed_ I have opened the one I have and it seems rather delicate and I obviously do not want to damager the sensor. Any help (with pics) is hight apreciatted.

Thanks guys,

Korsou

AFAIK, nobody on here is running the AEM EMS. Maybe try the UK or Austrailian forums?

To answer that precisely "Stock". Some of the more serious enthusiasts try the ROM tuning thing and us extremists use "SDS" for our engine management tuning needs. It is a full standalone and is probably the most simple, effective system on the market hands down.

Hello Dee,

I am debating if I should get the Link ECU or the AEM EMS. The problem with getting a universal EMS is that getting the sensors in Spain it is difficult. There are no US cars available at will here. That is why the AEM which uses the factory sensors or the Link ECU.

Any further help would be awesome.

The SDS can be used with almost all of the factory sensors, and it will come will all of the other sensors that you need when you buy it. The company is based out of Canada, and ships worldwide. I use this system as well, and would reccomend it.

If you're wanting to stick with stock sensors, have you looked at NIStune at all? It's an Austrailian based company. The system is a daughterboard that's added to the stock ECU and allows you standalone like control without any other changes to sensors or wiring. I don't have experience with it, so I can't speak of it personally, but I know it's becoming quite popular with the CA community in the US and Austrailia.

also have a look at apexi power FC. Countless high HP japanese and australian cars swear by this system.

Power FC would be very nice! Also Greddy E-Manage is another route if you don't want to pay 1K$+ Hal-Tech I also believe has made a PNP device for the CA too. But as everyone else says SDS epic Nistune epic! Britain is closer to Spain so you might be able to order up something from Horsham too(I haven't heard too much of them other then I think they made a 600 hp CA at some point could be wrong lol)

Hello Guys,

THanks for the comments, I am still debating what I should do. Once I look into all the recommendations I will post back and inform. What I would like is to have full flexibility.

You should just use Nistune if youre not going to replace the CAS with a decent trigger system.
Nistune is cheap and really good.

SDS is a good system, so is probably the link too.

The powerfc is really expensive and not as good as Nistune imo.
Vi-Pec makes a nice plugin board.
Buuut, maybe you should stick to the system you already have?
I have seen some threads where people open up the CAS and change the trigger plate when using autronic.
Search, and if you dont find anything i suggest you maybe ask someone you trust to try if you dont want to do it yourself.

Hello guys,

I have finally gotten m,y car running with the stock ECU. I now am about to install the AEM Series 1 stand alone and would like some help. Does anyone have a calibration file for the AEM Series 1? I can't even get it running and I have no idea why. Any help would be highly appreciated.

Thanks,

Korsou

ARE YOU HAVING TROUBLES WITH YOUR CAPS LOCK, TOO? MINE HAS BEEN STUCK ONE FOR WEEKS NOW AND I'VE BEEN TOLD THE PROBLEM IS NON-FIXABLE. IT'S TERRIBLE BECAUSE EVERYBODY THINKS I'M YELLING AT THEM AND IS SENDING THE WRONG MESSAGE TO EVERYONE I E-MAIL. FML

But seriously though, are you sure he'd have to use an RB or VG one? I wouldn't think a CA would run with a 6-cylinder ecu.
