I went to install my CAS according to the the FSM except I ran into a problem. The engraved dots on my CAS are backwards the one closest to the gear or "top" is to the left of the lower dot. In the FSM however the top dot is to the right of the lower dot. Sooo what do I do? Which dot do a align the mating mark with before it goes in?? Help is needed.

I'm going to try to space out dots.. it may or may not work.

I think you mean your CAS is like this:

|..*...||....*.|

Instead of like this:

|...*..||.*....|

as pictured in the FSM.

Regardless of the lineup. Align the right most mark with the "mating mark" on the cas Typicaly in the 12 o'clock position. As you slide the cas into position the left most mark should rotate up and line up with the mating mark, again 12 o'clock.

At least thats how i did mine, then do the small adjustment with a timing light.

The S13 and S14 are different but Cyberkreig is right, lined the one on the right when its out so that the left mark lines up when its installed, and deffinately use a timing light when you get it on, mine was lined up perfect and when I checked the timing it was retarded to 5 BTDC.

Yep, the newer blacktops that I have parted out have different markings on the CAS than the older engines.

The advice given sounds good, if not just play with it until you get it up and running, then adjust with the timing light.
