1999 Mitsubishi Mirage (Felt like a motorcycle engine under the hood lol)
1996 Chevrolet S10 (Good truck until one thing broke after another)
1995 Honda Accord 2dr (great car, but the transmission started to slip so I ditched it)
1990 Nissan 300zx (Not as fast as I expected it to be, but it's still a blast, when it's running)

I'm only posting this 'cause I'm sure you guys need a laugh today:

1981 Mercury Cougar XR-7 (white vinyl interior )
1990 Ford Tempo GLS (2-door, at least)
1998 Nissan Altima GXE
2005 Nissan XTerra
1993 Nissan 240SX SE

Yes, those are the only cars I've ever owned. I like long-term relationships -- I can't help it. In my defense, the list of cars I've *driven* is significantly longer. Which I suppose means I'm loyal but habitually unfaithful.

in no particular order:

1. 1979 Datsun 210 (Tan)

2. 1980 Datsun 210 (Maroon - the night I found out this car had been stolen, I found NICO.)

3. 1980 Datsun 210 (Brown - parts car)

4. 1979 Datsun 210 (Dark Green - parts car)

5. 1979 Datsun 210 (light green- the nicest one I ever owned; lost it in the divorce then someone stole it from my ex)

6. 1983 Mercury Marquis

7. 1995 Ford Contour (I wish this car had been better made. I really loved to drive it when it ran right. SUPER fast car, I had a rare factory 5-speed with all the extra goodies)

8. 1998 Dodge Stratus (Another favorite. Head-on collision killed the car. The car saved my life and Priss. The car crumpled, the passenger compartment stayed intact.)

9. A beater land yacht I had for less than 6 months. I honestly don't remember what it was. It rode like a Cadillac and drank gas like crazy.

10. 2002 Ford Taurus (Very nice car. Would have kept it if I hadn't found the Frontier.)

11. 2005 Nissan Frontier Crew Cab 4x4 6MT (I will never sell this truck unless my kids are starving. Hands down, the favorite vehicle I have ever owned.)

12. 1972 Datsun 240Z with RB25

If you count the ones I get to drive because my husband is a nice guy:

They also had horrible electrical systems and over-heated like crazy. If my ex hadn't wrecked this car I probably would have ended up trading it in. There's a reason this car faded out quickly.

Ok I'll play too...

From first to last

1984 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Brougham Edition - Mom gave it to me when I came back from my hardship tour in Korea, killed a couple deer with it, ate the backside of a Chevy pickup, got it repaired, was stolen an torched, I REALLLLY miss this car, it's the car I learned to drive in when I was in HS and it got me a lot of sexy time.

1990 Nissan 240SX LX 5 speed - Had a truck turn in front of me on an icy road, insurance totaled it out, shoulda bought it back from the insurance company and replaced the front end as there was no frame damage, totaled out due to age.

1991 Mazda MX6 LX 5 speed - little old lady turned in front of me 2 blocks from my house in a torrential downpour, totaled again due to age. Fun little car despite it not having the GT's turbo charged engine.

1996 Mitsubishi Galant S 5 speed - A tremendously fun car and one of a VERY small collection of Galants that came from the factory with a 5 speed. I miss this car too, shame it was destroyed thanks to a drunk driver on the PA turnpike. Legitimately totaled.

1995 Nissan 240 SX Base model - current car, picked up from salvage yard for $1400 with 230K on the clock, 3 engines, a 5 speed swap and lots of mods later the old girl is still trucking along with 260+K on the odometer. Debating as to whether I want to keep her or sell.trade her in towards the purchase of a diesel super duty truck.

Wow, so much hate for my exhaust... There is nothing wrong with it, it's just loud, and I've had it like that for over 3 years and have never been pulled over or a ticket, it even passes inspection every year. I have a small exhaust leak at one of the connections that I can't seem to find but beyond that there is nothing wrong with it, I can baby it and make her whisper quiet when I want/need to or I can go full bore and make everyone deaf, it's a win win for me. The suspension and bushings are the only things that I'm concerned with fixing, but being broke I can't even replace them with used stock ones.

This is a short list since I've had my last couple of cars for a long time.

87 Hyundai Excel (white hatch 5spd)- my first car, liked to destroy cv axles. Had for a year and traded in for...

89 Pontiac Grand Am (blue 4dr auto)- didn't like it. I missed a manual trans after the first week and it was the only 4dr I've owned. I had it for about a year and traded it in on a...

96 Ford Escort LX (white hatch 5spd)- Loved this car and all it's 88hp of fury. I got it to have something reliable when I went to college. I put this little car through hell and it kept coming back for more. Bought it new with 6 miles on it and it had 140k when I gave it to my little sister for her first car. In trade I received my brothers...

95 Nissan 240SX (red 5spd)- Still have this one. I just rebuilt the engine and transmission, so I'm hoping it sticks around for a while longer. It has 163k miles and just like most 240s, it's a work in progress. I DD it and my other vehicle...

99 Dodge Ram 1500 (silver reg cab auto)- My other DD. I've had it for about 4 years and it has 198k miles on it. So far it's been a good truck, and it sounds angry when I drive it.

1. 1969 Mustang, 250ci/ unusual because it had a bench seat, great date car :naughty:
2. 1976 Ford panel van, bought brand new and my dad and I built inside as a show van. It was in several shows.
3. 1978 Dodge Diplomat, it was ok, a good cruiser with moon roof and brown leather.
4. 1980 Datsun 200SX, what a car! I loved it until I wrecked it. I traded it for my next car
5. 1984.5 Datsun 200SX, first car I started modding but not to much. Enkei wheels, pinstripe. I loved this more than the '80. I put 140K miles on it then plug froze, had it fixed and was never the same.
6. 1989 Ford Ranger, it was ok but it drove like a tank and always seemed top heavy.
7. 1993 Ford T Bird, my first BIG mistake, 3.8 engine, my wife wrecked it twice, had engine rebuilt because it kept blowing head gaskets. Swore never to own a Ford again.
8. 1978 Mercury Cougar, 351 Cleveland, my dad gave this to me when he retired. Boy did the car haul a** for all the weight.
9. 1977 Datsun pickup, king cab, this was a joy to drive.
10. 1997 Honda CRV, current vehicle, wife's. just turned 120K and still drives like right off the showroom floor.
11. 2004 Nissan Maxima, funky looking dash but a great car, but it was a 4 door.
12. 2008 Nissan Altima Coupe, current ride. traded the Max in on this as I couldn't pass on the great looks, color, and easy to mod. :bigthumb:

The fumes are because it runs rich, which are because I have practically no emissions devices on my car, the only thing I have left on it is the front O2 sensor, so the ecu is freaking out because it doesn't have anything to tell it what A/F Ratio's it should be running. I still get fairly good gas mileage though, usually get around 300-350 miles to the tank unless I'm stuck in bumper to bumper traffic. I did finally get a replacement silencer for it, now it sounds like a neutered civic.
numbnuts240 wrote:says you, that f**ker is TOO loud. and don't tell me that it can be p****-footed around, i refuse to believe that. shifting at 800rpms won't drown that noise.
I generally shift at 3k for day to day driving, but when I need to be quiet I shift @ 2500, anything below that leads to it bogging down and damn near stalling because I have an aluminum flywheel and drive shaft. I have driven it onto the PPD Academy grounds for Orientation with a ton of cops on the premises and they never even looked at me. It's not so much about shift points as the amount of gas you give it and knowing when to just put it in neutral and idle coast. 1st gear is the only gear where it gets a little ornery no matter how I drive it b/c of the flywheel and drive shaft.
