Lets see pics! its ok to show off your other rides too. Im 20 so ive only owned 1 other car...and it wasnt really mine my dad used it alot

reasons why my previous ride was GHETTO (and i miss it)1986 Mercury Cougar-3.8L V6 - Carbeurated-two tone paint - Black on grey....the black was turning white so i SPRAY PAINTED THE ROOF AND HOOD. LOL-They dont even sell merc's in canada anymore-The engine mounts were going on it...the vibration was so bad my battery kept getting dislodged and eventually punctured-intense backfire on startup-seats had more motions and adjustments than my q-rear wheel drive....i learned some great sliding techniques in the snow in this thing. -my girlfriend was scared to drive in it she felt "unsafe"-full DIGITAL display...yet an ANALOG clock on dash...-power window switches were at the center console like bmw's....yet the gearshift was on steering column....

broke down on a mission out of town to buy a new car....two occasions...the second occasion we got so fed up we just left it with one of the mechanics at the dealer to keep it and rented a car to get home...which told me three weeks later he crashed it after he fixed it...the brake calipers exploded and he ended up in someones lawn....

your turn! dont be ashamed!

I had an 86 chevy sprint, which was actually made by suzuki, smallest car i ever owned. The Bad 3 cylinder 1 liter engineA turbo the size of my fistIt came stock turbo so it could hit 55!!!!!was too much work to make it fastthe turbo self destructed and ate itself.

The Good When u turned the boost up to like 18 psi the car FLEW!!!!Sold it to a guy upstate that raced them, doubled what i paid for it That is the only good thing.

OMG you picked an interesting topic.Given my age, I could write a book on all the cars I've had, good and bad.I'll compile a list and get back to you on this one. What I can tell you is that the first car I actually owned (had my name on the pink slip) was a 1961 Vauxhall Velox. Put your hand up if you've never heard of it. This was my dad's car that I inherited. The first car I actually paid money for was a 1965 Chevy 4-door Biscayne. Great back seat, if you know what I mean.I paid $800.00 for it, and had to take out a bank loan to pay for it. My dad had to co-sign the loan. My monthly payments were $35.00. Oh, there's so much more on this subject, I could go on and on. Lots of good memories.

Ha. Great topic.

The first car I owned I inherited from my parents. 1992 Plymouth Acclaim. Drove it all of two months, the last two months of winter. It sat outside for two winters beforehand, and while the body held up, that's about *all* that held up.

The BadNo heat at all from the vents (downright dangerous in Canadian winters)

Could barely reach 110km/h on the highway before it started stuttering.

Would overheat, lose compression, and stall if I drove more than 20 minutes in the city.

The UglyFlywheel broke when pulling out of a parking lot. Lucky as hell that I didn't get T-boned.

*******************

The second car: 1995 Chevrolet Lumina. More power and actually a reliable vehicle. Was effin' luxury compared to the Acclaim. Was looking for an SUV since summer '07, bought the Pathy in winter '07 because "the Lumina's tires were bald and I didn't want to buy new tires for that POS".

The Good

Reliable engine and transmission, body still in good shape. 250xxx km and still runs great.

6-banger, 160hp, actually had a bit of power. Though my frame of reference was a 120hp Acclaim with crappy compression.

The Bad

To change sparkplugs, you have to rotate the engine. Gigantic pain.

When you hit 140km/h, the engine rocks. Great if you're changing sparkplugs on-the-fly.

Every couple weeks, an electrical problem would creep up or something in the interior would break.

Trunk had two gigantic arms that held it to the body... arms would crush anything in the trunk when you closed it.

Everything on the underbody was rusted... had a ratchet with a 3 foot arm (really a lead pipe), still couldn't get enough leverage to undo bolts for suspension.

The Ugly

Puke purple paint job.

First car that I called my own was a 97 Civic coupe. No pics of the car but this was the car that got me into car audio.

I had a LCD screen molded in the dash way before they started getting cheap and popular, that thing cost me a small fortune. Setups I had, started simple with Eclipse coax in the front and rear powered by a Crossfire amp and some Infinity subs. Then the mod bug bit me and upgraded the subs to a pair of JL W6 powered by a US Amp. Swapped out the front speakers for a set of component and the rear for some Focal coax. Changed up the subs again and this time I did a false floor setup with 3 subs and a JL 500/1 amp. I did 3 12" Diamond audio M5's had that for a few months then got some Diamond Audio Mac Daddy's.

Picked up a 2001 A4 in June 01 because I woke up one morning and said I got bored of the Civic. THis car I dumped a bunch of money into, I was making decent money and I didnt have much in bills. Had 5 screens in the car, trunk area was all fiberglassed to hold 2 JL W7's, Zapco amps, symbilinks, firewire instead of RCAs etc

Got a MPV as a beater to hual stuff, got rid of that then, I then picked up a 88 sentra as a beater, the engine blew a whole in the block so that was the end of that.

Sold the A4 a few months after I picked up a 350Z at the end of 2003, and spur of the moment purchase. I just wanted the hottest car at the time and was a purpose built car. I wanted to build a car to getin to a magazine. Got in to Car Audio and Electronics in May 05 and sold the car June 05. Ran Zapco amps again and picked up a set of Focal Utopia 3-ways. Those speakers pretty much runied me forever, I dont think I can ever get anything less than those now.

Photoshoot for Angels and Rides.com

Picked up a Tercel as a beater, what a POS. It had a hole in the floor so whenever it rains my street floods and would almost flood the inside of the car.

Sold both cars and picked up a 92 Miata. I became a believer in Miatas, probably the funnest car Ive had.

Few months later picked up a 99 Acura TL, that thing handled like a boat but it was comfortable.

Sold the Miata during the summer of 05 to pay for school.

Sold the TL and picked up a 2005 S2000 in Nov 05 because the TL was just too boring. Did a few track events in this car.

Corkscrew at Laguna

Picked up a Civic again for a beater.

Got bored of the S2K and picked up a E430 in June 07, I nicked named this one the German Tank. It was big, heavy but surprisingly quick and handled pretty well. I was in the VIP thing for a bit.

I think I still had the Civic at this time, but I eventually sold off both. The E430 started to have random lights go off. Sold the E430 in Nov 07 and got a 2003 G35.

Had the G35 until about 2 months ago and got the QX4 and a 1993 G20 as a beater.

The G20 paid off as on friday some girl hit me on the way to lunch.

And now I'm shopping for miatas again as a track car.

You get used to the check engine lights, if its solid you are good to go. Its when its flashing that you have to worry haha. You get used to it and its no big deal. As long as you come in knowing its not going to be as cheap to own as a japanese car, you should be fine. My Audi gave me the most headaches of all my cars but i miss it the most.

ive owned some cars.

lol first car when i was 15, over 6 yrs ago wow. well, the car stopped going in drive after like 2 months.

3 months after that i got this 90 celica. first 5spd car. i dropped it 2.5 in, and threw an intake and system. a couple months later i dropped a turbo 3sgte motor in it had it for about a year.

got this vr6 corrado 5spd after it

but fliped it about 5 or 6 months later

for some reason i got this. it was the slowest car i have ever had. if you think the 3.3 pathfinder is slow. you're smoking rocks if you haven't driven this car. it was 4x4 and had a sweet system

got this pathfinder in late 05 early 06 and could not complain. what a great car.

Wow too many. For a while I was switching cars every two years or so... Here's a list, sorry no pix

1957 Bel Aire (still in need of a resto, in my dad's garage)1976 Olds Cutlass Supreme (Gutless supreme) Traded some R/C airplane stuff for it, drove it for 2 + years.1990 5.0 Mustang coupe (5 point slow) Fun car...1993 Ranger 4.0 Extra Cab - POS1973 Z-28 Camaro most fun on 4 wheels on pavement. Had the car dyno tuned about 1x month. It would pull the front wheels off the ground shifting 1-2 and keep pulling hard. Was a low 12s car in the 1/4. Was putting around 400 horses to the ground.1964 El Camino - Resto project that got sold mid-resto.1976 MBZ 240d Diesel. was my commuter when I had the Camaro. 38hp Yep, that's right 38hp. Had some "Team Smoke Screen" stickers made our motto - "We'll smoke you one way or another" With pix of the back end of the Camaro and the 240d.1989 240SX first Nissan. AWESOME car, kind of gutless, but very well balanced and fun to drive. Sold it with something like 240k on it.1995 Civic EX Coupe - was my wife's when we sold the 240SX and bought her a new 04 EX Coupe I took the 1995, only drove it for a few months.1995.5 Tacoma 2wd Extra Cab. Another awesome car. Inherited from the FIL when he passed. I was putting something like 25k/year on the truck for 3+ years. This thing never missed a beat. Got consistently 27 mpg, if the mpg dropped I knew something was wrong, usually the tire pressure was low. Sold it b/c the baby seat wouldn't fit.1998 Pathfinder XE 2wd 5spd. Current ride. I've had it 7 months and love it. Just another great Nissan vehicle. My next car will probably be another newer Pathy, but probably still an R50.

No the 2" lift doesnt ruin your CVs if you buy the warn hubs and lessen the wear. But on the black pathy and the last 2 pics of the white pathy those were both 6" custom lifts built by me. The 2nd white pathy pic is the OME lift with a 1" front strut spacer and 32 bfg ats and the 3rd white pathy pic is the AC lift and 1" front strut spacer with 32 bfg ats. The MTRs are 33s and on the xterra i have 33s on that. And my black pathy ive got 33 BFG KM2s. lol.

Well, I tend keep my cars a long time, usually driving them into the ground, and then to the junkyard or auction. I've driven and owned quite a few before Nissan. Best ride to date has to be my Pathfinder. I'll keep it forever. In the meantime, here's a list, as best I can recall.

1961 Vauxhall Velox--crashed it.1965 Chev Biscayne--junked it.1973 Toyota Celica--first new car. Loved it. Sold it back to the dealer 7 years later.1975 Pontiac LeMans --sold.1976 Buick Century--sold.1979 Plymouth Volare Stn.Wgn--sold.1981 Buick Century--junked it.1984 Buick Regal--Junked it.1980-something Olds Cutlass--POS--sold.1988 Ford Escort--sold1988 Grand Voyager mini-van--to auction after 400,000 Kms.1993 Ford Tempo--sold1996 Ford Windstar--POS--traded on Pathfinder.2001 Ford Windstar--leased and returned.2002 Pathfinder--My DD.2003 Sentra SE-R--sold it to my son last year.2006 Altima--wife's DD.

Yea, it's fairly long, and I'm sure I've missed a couple. It's hard to remember them all. Even most of the cars I've listed as sold were run into the ground. I sold them as is, for practically nothing. They weren't quite ready for the junkyard, but not worth much either. Most of them needed more work than I was willing to invest. Most of my cars had anywhere from 150,000 to 250,000 kms. They didn't last as long then as they do now either. I keep a minimum of 2 vehicles in my driveway. I've had up to 5 at one time, much to the displeasure of my neighbours. I don't drive as much as I used to. We did a lot of long distance travel by car in the past, but have cut back (We tend to fly now).FYI: I need/use my Pathfinder for my home renovation business, but it's all local driving.

1- 1989 z28 camaro t tops - i luved that car the tires used to smoke up like crazy - was driving it around though for 6 months with no insurance bc i couldnt afford it than with my friends fathers license plates, thats b4 the laws got more stricter wound up selling it for double what i paid with bald tires lol

2- 1996 honda civic hatchback- this was around the time fast and furious came out and i got into that rice stage , i learned how to drive manual with this car , kept it for bout 8 months than got tired of it bc i had the base model, no power steering n no power windows

3-1995 nissan maxima se -bought it at a dealers auction with 104k miles, kept it for 3 years , sold it after they tried steeling it from me , the car ran strong and i still miss it till this day

4-now my 2002 pathfinder - been happy with it so far , having the suv stops me from wanting to speed as much as i did with the maxima, less tickets lol
