Are all of your hoses good and not leaking? Kind of move them around to make sure they aren't split in a curve or something. Did you install the thermostat the right direction? Have you pressure checked your radiator cap? Few things that can be looked at here. Overheating sucks and can be caused by numerous things.

I have a 94 and had a leaky radiator, so i replaced the radiator and the thermostat and mine overheated and i took all the steps to get the air out of the system. Still nothing. I found out that the previous owner put that bull**** radiator fix-a-leak in the radiator to fix the leak. well it didnt and instead it clogged the heater core. So for the time being i took the thermostat out and no overheating. But also no heat until i get a new heater core. But I am guessing if you have tried everything else, then this might be your problem as well

if i were you id pray to god that its not your headgasket. id much rather replace a heater core than a headgasket any day.

well it shouldn't be my head gasket because the car cools back down to just a little bit higher than normal

yeah just check your hoses, thermostat, and radiator for any signs of damage. it could also be air pockets yes, but also in most cases of the car overheating, you need to check the stock fan shroud, make sure it comes on when its suppose to, also, i would recommend royal purples max EZ i put that stuff in my coolant and i only use it with water[not when its winter though, cos its not antifreeze] and that stuff really helps dramatically!

yea i bought some and i hope it works out for me. but i was thinking and i still have the single cam lower hose with some censer in it, and im still using my single cam cluster. i dont think that would have any affect would it? here is a photo taken from my cellphone, and you cant really tell that there is much of a difference.

I went through the same thing myself, DO NOT trust the ect for the gauge cluster, it is full of lies, my gauge would go up and stay in a little above middle, and stay there ragardless, the temps would fluctuate, with a 30 degree difference, and that gauge wouldn't budge (verified with a temp gauge). I went with autoometer, and love it.

Hey Bored, I actually had a similar problem in the past where my ride overheated. I changed the radiator, water pump, thermostat, and still nothing was fixed, the fan was operating as it should, no head gasket damage and then one day I did use the fix a leak "bull ****" that you referred to and amazingly it fixed the problem for me and 8 months later it still runs like a champ. I'm glad it worked because I wasn't looking forward to replacing the motor at the time or doing a rebuild.

As for rbeast, I hope your problem gets solved. My gauge definitely went all the way up when I had problems. I'm not a mechanic but I'm guessing that it could be an ecu or electrical based issue if none of the normal methods work. I doubt it though. What do you guys think? Whatever it is I hope you get it solved. I remember being in the same boat.

that is true about what you said about stock gauges. They are only a little but accurate for a peace of mine so that the automotive companies can sell cars to the customers. But stock gauges sucks?

Not all gauges suck lol. Just my HUD Gauge lol! I also had a problem, when accelerating, my temp gauge would go down, and the gas gauge would rise. The HUD is also intermittent, it is time for a new gauge.

I see you are from Sac, where at, I am currently living in Natomas.
