Hey all, new guy to the forums and to my 07 M35X. So far loving the car and got a great deal on it. I have several questions I'll ask later and or search for but right now my car seems to handle "funny". When driving and sometimes on grooved pavement and sometimes not, the steering wheel will kind of "dart" to the left and such. It almost seems like the tires are grabbing, etc. Its not all the time and its not terrible but seems off. I ordered new Continental tires and some new aftermarket wheels. So hopefully after an alignment and the new stuff it will be corrected. Seeing if you guys had something similar, thanks

Nope none of that will help cars are notorious for tramlining, google it and you will find that it is a very come trait with our cars. There is no know cure. Conti's mask the problem. I have new DSW's and they work much better, but no matter what I do the car will wander.

I think it is just a design flaw with the M. But google it and you will see how common it is.

A tech I know said that the entire steering rack needs to be engineered to fix the problem. So unfortunately, you, me and everyone else is stuck with it.

Conti dws fixed it for me. No more tramlining no matter how bad is the road.

I have Michelin Super Sport A/S Plus and on one road at the very same spot downhill and slightly turning, I get tramling - nowhere else. I also get a sharp tug on the steering wheel from time to time when coming to a stop on certain roads. My Infiniti guy said the same thing - it is common on the M's.

I put Conti's DWS on my car about a year ago. No tramling, plus they are great in snow county. Given the 4 seasons I am very happy with them.

What type of snow falls do you see in your area?

We can get very heavy snow fall with deep freeze temperatures, which result in ice and black ice. I have a complete set of winter tires and rims (blizzak) that go on the care in late November and come off in early march

CT is strange. Sometimes it's 1-2"'s. Other times up to 3-4 feet or anything in between. It can be slushy, icy, black ice, or light or hard packed. The temps can vary by day from 20 to minus 30. It's just weird. There is not any two storms that are exactly alike. I have used blizzak's on other cars. They were great! So far the Conti's are servicing me well as our weather is so strange. I am sure we are not getting the kind of dumps you must be getting. I used to do what you do and change the tires out on my Mustang. With the M the Conti's are working well because the various types of snow dumps we get the dry, wet, snow properties seem to fit the climate. Dealing with black ice is the worst. There is very little you can do when you hit that with any tire, unless you have studs or chains.
