I searched all i found was a thread for removing out of a vert, and also the guy stated it probably was an aftermarket carpet because it wasnt connected as 1 piece under the dash. However in my 93 hatch the carpet is connected together under the dash and im wondering how in the world is someone supposed to remove it... Just to get it out does it have to but CUT out?

The easiest thing I have found to do is take my trusty utility scissors and make a cut from the shifter base straight up under the radio.

For the amount of work involved, this is by far the easiest, most time saving way to do it. Upon re-install the cut is not noticeable at all because of the center console.
