I took my 2007 sl versa to carmax today to get appraised and on the appraisal it says that its an "s" model but my car has sl badges... im confused... i asked the guy why it came up as an "s" and not an "sl" and he said that my car came up as an "s" when he put in the vin# into the system.. is it possible that my car is really and "s" and not an "sl"?

this is a serious integrity problem. give ur vin# to a nissan dealer and they can check with nissan to find out if it is an S or SL. thats the way i use to check on my SL. hope that helps.

My first Versa had no badges whatsoever on it (S or SL) and when I inquired about it they told me they had no idea why there were no badges on it but it was most definitely an SL. The options were correct so I have no reason to beleive otherwise...except when State Farm called about totalling it out and told me I had an "S" model...I had to correct them or I would have gotten WAY LESS than I should have.

When I bought my new V, I made sure it was an "SL" and it has badges to prove it. I also went to a different dealership...

Thanks for the help guys. I just looked through some old paperwork when i had service done at the dealer and it does state that it is an sl. Who would i talk to at the dealer to check if i do indeed have an sl and not an s. Im almost positive it is an sl. I have all the features of an sl including the sl badges. i just want my versa to be recognized as a sl if i ever decide to trade it in.

i take it you don't have your window sticker anymore?

what about your purchase agreement?

check any and all papers you received when you purchased the car to see if it is listed as an SL anywhere.

I wonder if Carmax was trying to take advantage of you.

Carmax has also been known to make mistakes. We bought our 2002 Rendezvous from them and they made the mistake in OUR favor. They had a lower model on the car and never noticed that the sticker they put on it said it seated 5 and had cloth interior. In fact it had leather interior and the optional third seat in it, so it seats 7. Other upgrades as well that weren't reflected in the price. Both our credit union and our insurance agent confirmed that the price didn't reflect the options on the vehicle so we jumped all over the deal.

You have an SL if you have;

Alloy wheels

"weaved" cloth seating surfaces (charcoal and a purplish color checker pattern, or beige and tan)

6 CD stereo with aux input

keyless entry with remote and alarm

map lights and overhead sunglass holder

Cruise control

Power windows, mirrors, and locks.

These are all standard on the SL, and some are not optional on the "S."

Yup my car has all those features and more! It has the bluetooth and the keyless start and cvt. I just dont understand why my car came up as an s model. When i told the guy about all the features my car has he said that those features dont really appeal to a carmax customer who is shopping for a compact sedan! My car was appraised at $11,500 with 7k miles on it!

I would run from that j@ck@$$ as fast as I possibly can! Basically, he's telling you he wants to buy your 8 bedroom house for the price of a 2 bedroom condo, because he only needs 2 bedrooms! You definitely have an SL.

Maybe they were listing the car with all the options that they felt their customers wanted and so they only "sold" (and paid for) those features...

Kim- which sounds like they took advantage of the people they got the car from, much the same as they tried to do to thefranchiz.

I can't wait to find out if the Carmax in question is the one down near LAX in Inglewood. That's where we got our Rendezvous.

schweet! the new G is iffy, I don't know if I love it or hate it, it is, wellllll, different, body styling gets me on it, but man I have seen the HIDs on that, and they are a NICEEEEE upgrade from what ICHIKOH made for the G35, output is incredible, and they did a damn fine job on the shroud work.

I apologize for this being rather peevish... but can we refrain from shortening my name to Kim... it really bothers me.

/peevish

sorry, back to the thread.

My apologies. I was typing away and just abbreviated the name like we do at a golf forum I regularly participate at. No harm intended. I won't do it again.

And no, it is not peevish. You have a right to be called whatever you feel comfortable with.

I hate you. Why do you have to show up here and now?? ;oD

and if you're going to call me it, at least spell it right...

it's Kimmi. Dangit!

and, as previously noted, I haven't gone by that since I was 10. But at least it was a name I actually used to be called. ;oP

Kimmi? beats Kimbo. In first grade, there was a girl named Kimberly... we called her "Kimbo Kimbo, the..." well, you get the idea.
