Yes Nala even if you only plan to be here 1 day you have to pay $50 to be able to park your car in the paddock area, unfortunately there is no 1 day only option. You can get a 1day pass but you have to park in the parking lot, which unless you get there early will be full and you'll wind up having to walk a good distance. This is a HUGE event and as soon as you get into the Carlisle area once you're off the turnpike you'll notice a VERY large police presence (so unless you want to get pulled over I suggest you keep the stereo turned down, and crawl to the fairgrounds. You'll also notice a lot of cars and trucks around and people with signs saying that you can park on their property for a a small fee, but I suggest you not do that. It's actually safer to just suck up the price of admission to park in the paddock area where all of us will be around to keep a close eye on your vehicle.

Honestly if you plan to only come down for Saturday you ought to leave stupid early in the morning, otherwise you'll have made the trip only to spend a handful of hours there. So if you leave around 5 or 6 you should be pulling into the fairgrounds around 9am which if you plan to parking in the fairgrounds parking lot should allow you get park pretty close to the entrance.

Bring a camera, you're definitely going to want it. If you plan to go look at stuff outside of the paddock I suggest you bring a skateboard or a bike, otherwise you'll never get to see 1/2 of what will be there. Maybe if you're lucky Greg will let you and a couple others borrow the dorifto cart.

Speaking of Greg and Becky, any word on what rental car they are getting to destroy on the Auto-X course?

Nala, if you come I would advise NOT buying an admission ticket. It's kind of a waste. You could just ride into the fairgrounds with someone else who bought a ticket to the fairgrounds and thus get on to the track with all of us for free.

Man up already. You can pitch in for Steve Becker's room at NICO HQ, and ride to the fairgrounds with me. The whole weekend won't even cost you $50 and it'll be a blast. :)

alright . Its a 4 hour drive. Leaving around 6:30-7, getting in hopefully around 11. Leaving at 5 PM.

Honestly Id love to stay over night with nico. I know id have one of the best nights of my life, and we would have a lot of fun. Eat some bacon. But my parents wont let me. Ill come to carlisle next year and I will stay with you. I will be in college then.

Of course I am bringing my s****y a** camera so you guys can believe me how s****y it is. Do you really mean to bring a bike? There are that many cars there? The NICO paddock wont be full right if I arrive by 11. Only public parking. I am going to wear my nico shirt and write naladude on it so you guys can introduce yourselves to me. I dont know what you look like.

^ I got a nice camera that I'll bring Nala. We should probably just pay the $50 because it's like a special lot we get to be in instead of the main parking lot right?

Torry and I are flying in as well, and also getting our own rental. We don't really know what we'll be getting until we get there.

Nala, for as much suff your parents buy/give you, you sure do a lot of complaining about how crappy it is. Bring your instant detailer, and the outfit you were wearing for your stupid video. Just think, if you were man enough to buy your own car and have your own job, you could stay the night, and have the money to pay for everything.

Are you guys flying into Philly as well, if so what time are you supposed to land?

Nala you don't need to wear a shirt with your name on it, we all know what your dumb a** looks like.

Nala, I know Warlord's posts have a lotta words, but read 'em, dummy. He's right. the place is huge. The track is on the far north edge of the property. There is other stuff going on throughout the day, including a burnout contest, bikini contest, stunt shows, lowest/loudest, the playboy model, etc. It's a long hilly walk to get from the track to the grandstands. The paddock is also big, but there is also parking outside the paddock. Since you're not driving on the track, you might as well park outside the paddock.

Warlord, I believe Greg mentioned he reserved a Maxima for a rental. We'll find out just how tough those CVT's are. Oh and the golf cart is not for sightseeing and is for staff only.

Oh so the $50 is for the Nico lot that is going to use the track? So Nala might as well park outside the paddock if we get there early. Is there a fee for that or is it free?

The $50 is to get into the Carlisle Fairgrounds and park one vehicle anywhere within. It's also $25 (IIRC) to WALK into the fairgrounds without a car. Either way, getting into the track is free if you have signed up here.

And if you ride along with someone who paid to bring a car in it is no charge to you, as the $50 admission = 1 car and 2 people.

what he said, so in short since you and Nala are carpooling together you both split the cost you'll be paying $25 either way, so it's worth more to just pay the $50 to park in the fairgrounds.

Why do I feel like none of this is sinking in and that come May 8th someone is going to get a phone call asking what these two should do.

What about the big, jacked up white truck from last year that tore the track all up? I think that it was the trailer truck for the 180sx drift car with the intercooler coming out of the hood.

Or the Ram3500 diesel in '07 that not only ran the track a few laps but left huge burnout marks over half of the track...

Yes, we have allowed a few special truck exceptions over the years for experienced drivers we know. Does not mean we're abandoning the rule. Nala's mom's SUV is a no go.

Dieselman did put on a great show back in '07 with that Ram pickup. :bigthumb: He was not only a staffer, but a talented driver with a special truck.

The big white truck last year was also an exception. The driver was featured drifter Mike from Whiplash (aka the "drift truck", plus that S13 with the intercooler in the hood). That was his tow vehicle. He was also asked not to use the tow vehicle on the track any more due to the destruction he caused with it.

I'm just double checking, I've never been to something like this or this big so I don't want to get lost/screwed up/dragged around aimlessly by Nala.
Fairgrounds for $50, split it with Nala and we're good to go.

You know you're going to want to kill him before you you even cross the PA PA state line, it's a given. Being in an enclosed space with Nala that early in the morning, you're going to want to jump out of the car while it's speeding down the PA Turnpike. Please tell me you are going to his house first, otherwise I have a feeling that he's going to flake on you and b**** out of the whole thing.

With a mixture of loud music and sleeping I should be good, I am very tolerant with people, he doesn't really bug me at all. Plus the event should be completely worth it, I have never witnessed drifting, autocross or anything like Carlisle has to offer.

What I don't get is how Nala turns 18 before the event, is free to go because he is 18, yet his parents wont let him stay overnight. Wut?
