Hi all,

I bought my winter tires today and now I'm needing wheels, I found a couple sets on Carid but I have never used them before.

Have any of you used them, if so how was your experience.

I don't want to risk buying from a crappy seller.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Andy

I have no experience with them, sorry. For future reference, I use Tire Rack. You can order tires and wheels together. They mount them, install TPMs, balance, and ship right to your home or your fav tire shop. I have them ship to my dealer and have them installed there.

I try to maximize my dollar but I will look and see what they offer.

Also when you have a sport model they don't give you that option at most of these sellers. Or if you select sport they don't show you 18" options.

Thanks for your input

I know a couple of local people that dealt with Car ID and it was a terrible experience buying wheels from them.

I have dealt with CarID and had no problems--though for wheels I generally turn to and highly recommend OE Wheels in Sarasota, FL.

I just bought an exhaust pipe for my wife's Rav4 from CarId via Ebay. The flex pipe on it came 'frayed' like it was bent beyond it's limit. We're replacing the car soon so I don't really care and the pipe was like $90 so whatever. Not even going to bother going after them.

So

I contacted the original sales guy at carid and asked if they match prices, he replied it needs to be so store front etc. I let him know who the other Co was and they have a store front.

When I told them the price all the sudden the wheels weren't in stock BUT online it showed that they were in stock. That answered all my questions right then.

Can't believe he would do that when he knows I can check it.

It's amazing that some companies knowingly mis-inform, cheat, and disrespect customers. For me, I will pay a higher price (within limits) to buy form a shop that has proven to be trustworthy with great customer service. I will continue to buy from places like Tire Rack, The Retrofit Source, and Vleds regardless of a small price difference because they treat me well and have proven to be trustworthy if a problem creeps up. There is something to be said for peace of mind.

I bought my wheels from carid. I had no problem with them. I got no email for shipping which was weird but this has happened with other big companies (amsoil, etc.) They had the right hub adapter included lug nuts and valve stems. They weren't the best quality but its cool that they sent them. Doesn't seem like that bad of a company but I've only had one experience so up to you.

I'm sure I would of received the wheels, well I hope so.

What was the complete turnaround for me was that the sales guy said that they weren't in stock when there site, i was on their site when talking to the salesman the site would allow me to order the wheels. When they aren't in stock they say not available, they didn't want to match the price that I found online and we're totally dismissive.

I will never use them ever, Ok never say never but I'll never use them lol.
