Hey guys, I'm thinking about ordering the rear cargo/tonneau cover but I'm not sure if it's worth the $150 or not.

Those of you that have it, do you use it, or do you take it off because it is more intrusive than useful? Is it rigid enough to place some objects on top of and use like a shelf or not? If it's just a light cover to keep people from looking in to your cargo area I think it might just be a pain because of the limit on the height that you can stack cargo.....any opinions?

well, definitely(sp?) its not hard enough to support weight on top of it...its just a cloth type material with suport on the 4 corners...it will sag in the center...i do find it useful because it hides from view and keeps cooler the baby stroller i keep in the trunk, but when i did put an igloo cooler it was useless because the cooler was avout 1.5" higher than the cover and it didnt deploy adequately...id say its worth it but depending on the type of cargo you carry....

I had a cargo cover on my company car... 2000 Ford Escort Wagon. If you want 'privacy' and a wayo to hide your cargo, it's great. Otherwise, it's generally a PITA:

- You have to remove it for anything large to fit.- Once removed, you have to find a place to store it... and most likely end up losing it.- You cannot place anything on top of it... nor would you want to for safety reasons.

I personally do not use one. I carry blankets for the purpose of covering my cargo. For safety, I use a cargo net attached to the hooks on the 4 corners of the cargo area. Speaking of that, I have to buy some 1" webbing to make a custom cargo net as I am not happy with the one I have.

I have taken it out of the car more than I have actually used it. Mainly used for hiding mall purchases while still shopping. Always in the way for Sam's Club runs for bulk items.

Always use it; hides your cargo nicely. Easy enough to remove if you have to fold down the rear seats to carry extra stuff and can then be placed along the side until you re-install it.

I did not have it with the car I ordered but make them buy it for me as I find it really useful: Hide what you have in the trunk, turn down a little bit the noise coming from the rear (i notice when I forgot to put it back) and when I need more space, It usually means that I have to fold down the rear seats so I put it in the space in front of the rear seats, behind the front seats so it is not in the way and still in the car.

I usually bought a car without it (I never bought fully loaded car) but always ask the dealer to put it free in the deal as I find it overpriced for what it is but really useful.

We use ours all the time. YMMV.

It's too bad that Nissan couldn't make it like the Toyota Prius. the Prius cover can be stowed out of the way in the tray under the cargo floor (there are notches and space for it to fit).

I don't think it would be worth paying $150 for but, again, YMMV. Maybe you can buy one off of a Rogue owner that doesn't use/want it.
