Makes sense. What type of work do you do?I'm actually thinking about getting the rear hatch glass and maybe the small windows to the back doors tinted. I think it would look nice and it would provide some privacy for the cargo area. The thing is, here in PA it's actually illegal to tint the windows of a car. If you have a van or SUV they can be almost black. But a car can't be tinted. How stupid is that?Ever Victorious wrote:i usually keep it in for security reasons. my insurance is liable for any customer parts i am carrying... so i like to keep stuff out of sight.
I do field desktop/notebook/printer repair. My customers are usually hospitals or corporations, so the parts tend to be more expensive than what someone from the Geek Squad might be carrying. Also, I tend to carry more parts overall.matt_a wrote:Makes sense. Wow that sucks. I think the 35% limit here is rediculous.Ever Victorious wrote:but with a limitation of 70%, and the fact that the LIGHTEST tints are 50%, that kinda nixes everything.
Be sure and check the classification of the HB as in the state of Texas it is not classified as a car but in the van\sport utility class and therefore I was able to have 20% installed on everthing but the front two doors.Ever Victorious wrote:According to the info we have (look in the general FAQs in the info center section of the portal page), it's not ILLEGAL to tint in PA... but with a limitation of 70%, and the fact that the LIGHTEST tints are 50%, that kinda nixes everything.
Hmm...I will have to check that out. That would be awesome. Thanks!Deke40 wrote:

That's actually not a bad idea ! I'll have to try that. Thanks for the tip. But doesn't this affect the maximum weigh the cover can hold on top of it ?GoodbyeCavalier wrote:I have taken the stings off of the hatch hooks, so when i open the hatch it stays flat
No... if you look at the cover when it's closed it is completely resting on a pair of guide "rails", one on either side of the cargo area cabin. The only weight limit of the cover is however much it takes to either knock the cover off its mount, or cause it to fold and collapse in the middle. Frankly, if you're putting THAT much weight on the cargo cover, you need to rethink how you're carrying cargo.Martin Roy wrote:That's actually not a bad idea ! I'll have to try that.
