Ok, yesterday I was giving my G a shower...Literally. I soaked it in water for about 30 mins prior to washing (worked like a charm).

Anyways, when I got down to the exhaust tips, I noticed that they were painted towards the center of the car. This and the little dent in my rear bumper lead me to believe the car was in a crash at one point.

The clear on the bumper is also very rough (orange peal) by comparison to the metal panels.

I signed my G up for the Carfax warranty. Anyone have any info on what I can do?

Did the warranty say the car had not had any damage?

You'll need to find out from a pro whether or not the car was repaired/repainted before you do anything.

I did a little more research and it's the CarFax buyback guarantee. They guarantee that the car was not totalled, in a fire...etc.

I need to find out what the extent of the damage to my coupe was from a body shop.

I don't know much about the Carfax warranty but I ALWAYS ask the salesman if the car has been wrecked or repainted. I've actually returned a car based on the salesman telling me no when it had been wrecked.

for future purchases of used vehicles, get the car on a lift to avoid this.
