thanks for the help chaotic, but I guess it's actually a bad report. The car I was looking at is supposed to be a 95 240sx! Either the engine or the dash, was replaced with parts from that 89 240. I'm sorry for asking again, but would you mind running this number as well?VIN# JN1AS44D5SW008875 Thanks for all your help.

The car is clean. JN1AS44D5SW008875 is a '95 240SX SE. Originally from Texax and made it's way to South Carolina, but was registered in North Carolina just this August. :) anyways, it's clean.

carfax would be a whole lot more useful if they could track maintenace history... i find that just as important as whether it has been in an accident...

So the car has had 2 owners since going to SC? Thanks!

* first registered in '94 at 36 miles.

* auctioned off in '96 at 31.5k miles and put up for sale at a dealer.

* sold and got registration in South Carolina 2 months after it was sold at dealership

* ownership transfer was reported in August of this year.

so we have the 1st owner in texas, the dealership that bought it from an auction, the person that bought it from the dealership and took it to South Carolina, and the person who got ownership of it in august and is now selling the car.

So I'm guessing 2-3 owners, depending on if the person selling the car now is a dealer or not.

Also, no mileage information is shown after '98, so i couldn't tell you if it's been driven after the august transfer or not.

sorry simounj, that was a month ago, carfax usage has expired. you'll either need to find someone else or cough up the money for the service.

it was never free... i just happened to be shopping for the car at the time and had paid for the service. you get a month of service for a flat rate. people happened to have asked about VIN #'s when i had it so i looked it up for them. you want the service, you either have to find someone that happens to have it and is nice enough to do it for you, or pay for it.
