I'm throwing around the idea of carbureting my SOHC KA. Since I just got a good job with good money, it would be a neat project for the summer.

Im not saying I definitely want to do it. I would just like some more information, I have searched here and the things that I have found are limited and pretty specific.

I found this:http://www.courtesyparts.com/nms/s13/s13_2.html

Why is this race only? I dont daily drive my 240, but I still have to drive it to the track, like 2 hours away. When they say race only, how serious are they? Even if it is strictly race only, I might still want to do it.

I really want something to throw my money at this summer, and this seems to be a relatively original idea.

The idea behind this project would be to have something decently fast, I'm basically looking for more power for the exits of turns, and the straights that seem to take forever in a nearly stock KA. I dont want a project that drags on and on with no fruition.

It's simple: go faster, reasonably cheaply, reasonably reliably.

So tell me something that I don't know about this.

Thanks.

Is that the only reason??

I understand why the valvetrain components wont be streetable, Im only asking about the carb setup.
