well, i've looked and looked and havent found any except these: http://01designsystem.com/

Opinions? Does any one else make them?

Would these last under harsh road driving(i have a bad habit of scuffing the sides of rims:hiding: )

Those look bad *** and I would assume they are pretty damn light. I don't know if I would use them on the street, but I'm sure they would hold up just fine. And about the scuffing of rims, DON'T PULL SO DAMN CLOSE TO CURBS! :pface

Not once did they show the back side of the spokes. My bet is that they are just aluminum spokes with a "cover" made in carbon.

that would be my guess...chances are, if a F-1 team didn't think a c/f wheel was a good idea...IT ISN'T.-chet

But they say "The finish will not chip, or scratch under normal conditions".

Seriously.. what did you think it had? Of course it's a coating!!

No finish will chip or scratch under "normal" conditions. Normal doesn't include rock chips, road debris, crashes, curb rash, etc..

No automotive paint finish will chip or scratch, unless you apply the above ingredients.....

What are the nirvana normal driving conditions that System One drives in, and where are these roads they travel? Must be just as nice as a test facility...... hmm ?

Heh, very true.

Someone should contact them and see what they say about their CF spokes. Just curious, how much or the structural integrity of a wheel is dependant on the spokes?

For clarification, I was stating they "say" and that's all they do is say. Not "claim/guarantee/warantee".

Sorry for any confusion, as my original post wasn't clear.

roger that! I wouldn't doubt you Rex, but I would certainly be wary of clever advertising alongside a wheel aimed at a particular market.... specifically the youth aftermarket..

What is the reason that you can't use CF for wheel spokes? I mean, if it's good enough for a drive shaft, why not a spoke? But Exar-Kun does have a good point about F!. I just wish it could be done. Cuttin 2-4 lbs of rotational/un-sprung mass would be sweet. One other thing I didn't think about, there selling a set for $1400. Seems a bit too cheap for all that structeral CF doesn't it? :thinker

wouldn't cf be too brittle for a wheel? like, hit a pothole over .5 mph and it would crack.

If you ever impacted it enough for it to yeild, it would not bend or deform like aluminum and steel do. Rather, it'd just break...no good for a wheel ;)

If they are only $1400 a set, then for sure they aren't full CF. I've seen super sport bike wheels that are full CF and they cost like 3K for a PAIR. Those are just ****ty covers like the chrome covers on newer pontiac grand am gt's

Carbon fiber can be used with other materials like kevlar which decreases its brittleness. I once saw a video of a very high quality carbon fiber hood that was structually intact after getting run over by some vehicle. I'll try to dig it up.

They mention the test here but the link to the site that makes the hoods is dead. Does anyone know what happened to Fiber Images??

I had a carbon fiber hood that came unlatched on the freeway, flew up and bent over my roof, smashed the hell out of my roof, shattered my sunroof, and cracked my windshield. All in all it was over 3k in damage. When I got over to the side of the road, I pulled the hood back down, it poped back into shape, and latched. I drove around that way for a couple days.

the weave patterns on those wheel are so off. if your not going to do it right don't do it at all.
