Just finished up mounting my carbon fiber T-Tops. these are mounted on a set of scrap T-Tops for fitment checks.
No fiberglass filler or mat and one layer of carbon BS, these have 4 layers of aerospace carbon cloth with a specialized core material to complete the lamination.
UV stable resin was used, with vacuum infusion.
the hardest part with this project was finding the correct type of rubber seals....
looking for a gage of interest on these, will be selling around $550 for the pair.
Literally takes about 10 minutes to install.
OEM weight is 16lbs, carbon versions came in at 6lbs.

Different weaves and colors are available at buyers request.

Little dirty with all my finger prints :/

No worries.

Cool product.

One suggestion: If you're going to introduce something that cool, how about some "finished" pictures? Buff out the red paint, reinstall the black rubber rain channels, and clean off the fingerprints.

Those will have no problem selling.

Here's a deal for you: Advertise 'em for free here.

Get some good pics and a nice description. We'll pimp it out on our social media network and maybe the homepage. After you've sold a few, hook one of our Mods up with a special deal on a set (in return for the publicity).

I like to make sure our volunteer mods get hooked up once in a while for all their hard work.

Cool?

That is a cool offer/outcome. The OP should jump on that.

I'm not interested in carbon figer anything, otherwise I'd be applying to become a mod! :)

Nah.. life is busy enough.

Great site by the way! :wavey:

Super cool idea.

I like that alot more than carbon fiber vinyl roof applications.

Good looking, and effective saving a bit of weight.

I have to agree that these would look pretty good with a CRP Z, and would be a cool alternative to the t-top shades if changing back and forth from cf to regular glass truly took only ten minutes a side.
Thanks for sharing, looking forward to your other pieces you mentioned!

Any chance you would make these for a 2+2 as well? If you need a set for the mold I have a spare set.

DUCK, if you start producing some other high quality pieces you will definitely find a ton of business here, this is awesome, I might even have a set made for my 2+0, if you are still on these in a couple years (out of the country right now).

I would venture to guess that there will be very few that will inquire about them for the 2+2 but there are some of us limo faithful that might be. Just let me know if and when you want the set sent out.

Don't worry about me hangign around I've had my Z for over ten years, Now she is a big single turbo on E85.
Currently working on a one piece cowl that's completely slicked up, should look quite nice.

Awesome news... Looking forward to seeing the outcome!

After all the smack-talk on FB about this deal, I'll be surprised if we don't get some people coming over from the *cough lame cough* "other" Z forums to check out the results. :)

Or you could not even worry about switching them out an just buy a set of used ttops and get them paint matched then install the Cf panels. That way you have your original ttops and the CF tops.

Then install time would be less than a minute to switch back and forth.

These are really interesting pieces of work! What's the weight savings like over the stock glass?
