i went to my local junkyard here in japan because i needed some new tires for my 1995 180sx last week. well... i picked up 4 225/50/16R used tires with rims and 2 205/50/16R used tires with rims also for 14,000 yen... that would equal to about 120 dollars? or 130.. something like that... it took me about 4 hours to find these in a bigass pile of rubber...newayz....when i was done.. i was looking around the lot and ran across this silver 1993 180sx... it looked like it rolled down a hill or something... it was in pretty bad shape... except for the front end. i went around the front and realized that it had a carbon fiber hood on it. immediately... i got a boner... the chances of finding a carbon fiber hood in a junkyard... are... are.... i dunno.. but ive been to the junkyard quiet a few times.. n i NEVER came across one b4.. it looked fine except for a big scratch down the middle... i asked the guyz how much it would be.... n they said 25,000 yen desu ne... so i said... wtf??? thats freakin outragous... i juss told them to hold it for me newayz.. hehe... carbon fiber hoods r pretty expensive here in japan... even if u buy them used.. they go for 600-1200 dollars in most places.... what i wanna know is... do carbon fiber hoods really matter other than looks? how much is that in weight reduction on a 1995 180sx?

you check it for damage why wouldnt the owner have kept it? it sounds like retail price here without the shipping +$150.

the answer is no, unless you really plan on stripping your car down to the chassis and racing on the track all the time.

work him down to around 20,000 yen and it'll be worth it

edit cuz i'm an idiot and misread his post...i forgot the 180sx was made for a longer time in japan, so that hood WILL work on your car
