First of all, our hoods are aluminum. So, you're really not shaving off much weight with a CF piece.
So, that leads to my second point; most people who have G's or Z's buy CF hoods for looks...
On an exotic I am sure you are after saving every ounce possible if for no other reason than you can afford it. While an Aston Martin DBS and a DB9 look very similar the DBS has 60 hp more while weighing in at 400 lbs less. It uses carbon-fiber body panels. The difference in cost is a mere 121k.
Seeing as this car is shown in a rather nice silver-gray I would say that they think it is worth while to paint. Simply that we normally see cf parts in black doesn't mean they have to be that way.
Carbon-fiber hoods are actually lighter than aluminum and may well be worth while in weight savings. However most hoods for street use are not 100% carbon-fiber and I believe are most likely puchased for looks. Based on my experience with carbon-fiber and its hazards I wonder if a 100% carbon-fiber hood is actually acceptable from a public safety view point. Aluminum also has had its critics in this regard but from the angle of the cars occupants. A hood offer some crash resistance and steel seems to come out the winner here, but then aluminum has been deemed acceptable as well and saves as much as 40% in weight for hoods.
