I see that VIS offers one - a rather exotic model called Terminator or some such. Does anyone have any experience with cf hoods, and this mfgr in particular? Thanks

Looks mostly. As I understand it, the altima has an aluminum hood already, or some other lightwight material. So I expect no weight savings.

so i you're only after looks, then your only question should be "does a cf hood fit well?" what issue would you have with a hood other than fitment? slap it on and that should be it. if you're just after the look, maybe you should look into a cf paintjob, might be cheaper

I just got their hood and it fits pretty well. They accidently sent me two hoods and I opend both of them up and I have to say that both were in great condition they also have a latch which most cheap CF hoods dont have so you have to use hood pins. I am very happy with the hood and the customer service that I got from Carbon Creations.

Since your going for mainly looks, here is what I can say:

Fitment shouldn't be to much of an issue with Carbon Creations CF hood. I test fitted both of their CF hoods and the fitment is 95% or higher. The weave pattern looks good overall. It is 2x2 weave pattern. It has a clear coat which gives it a gloss look.

Highly recommend AIT Racing CF hoods. I've had the Raiden hood on my car for a few years now and still looks great. My car does sleep in a garage though.
