Bob sent me another update email. Apperantly he got hold of a CF hood and hatch, check the pic's. I have no other information but the pictures.

The hood looks but I don't know about the hatch.

agree paint it, maybe the two-tone paint job i saw floating around here a while back. I'm really curious to see what kind of gas mileage you get with the weight reduction.

I love the idea of the weight savings but I have never liked the look of CF body parts on any car. To me it looks like you've been in an accident and you had to get non-matching parts from a junk yard. If you can get them painted to match that would be cool.I also have to laugh at some people (not saying you will do this) who will spend the money on a CF hood to save weight, but then they will put 100 lbs of amps and subs in the car.

That is also a good point... just how much weight IS lost with this combination?

Bob - if you're reading this, are you going to weigh all the parts before and after? It would be interesting to know just how much lighter each part is.

Ok here it goes.Yes, I am going to paint both of them when ready.....I'm more interested in power to weight ratio. So no I am not adding a massive speaker system to the car! Plus, I love the sound of my Versa motoring up the coast or on the freeway's.....especially now that the Tanabe has broken in........I will make a new video of that also....when I get a chance.I will try to get a weight difference on them but I can tell you that the CF hood was like nothing compared to the stock when we were bolting it on.......it was amazing the difference....and the hatch is the same....real light.....but I have not seen how much the stock hatch feels like weight wise. The quality on these are amazing......I was afraid they were going to be like some other CF products I've seen from other companies. The list on these are $660.00 each BUT this will not be the price I sell them for and that has not yet been calculated....I'm figuring mid five hundred range right now. These are the only ones in the world right now and Seibon will have them in stock in about three weeks.......right after you get your tax refund check back The reason as to it being designed like the stock hood is there sales show that the "aggressive" looking ones that are too different then the stock design do not sell well and for the Versa since they are testing the market they are going to see how well they sell before anything else will come out for the car.So anymore questions just drop me a line.

I think the Carbon would look fine un painted on a black car.

On a black car...sure, maybe. I think you could get away with it. It looks like the CF parts have enough gloss to make it work. On ANY other color car I wouldn't like the look. I guess I've seen too many cheaply repaired wrecks with mix-matched body parts to ever appreciate the look. I think the idea of CF parts painted to match is pretty awesome if there is significant weight savings.

Plus the other disadvantage of un-painted carbon is all the "ricer" kids can see you have it, so they'll go steal it. A friend of mine had a black Civic, and he had 2 hoods stolen. The cops told him that they never hear of other colors being stolen, just the black ones... stupid thieves.Do the carbon parts attatch to the latch/hinges like the stock pieces or would I need those hood pins?

Hey Bob -

No need for paint yet... Let em' stare....

I want in, please update me as soon as we can order both and @ what price we get em' for; any discounts for bundled deal??? This year I'm doing the show circuit and wanna do as much as quick as possible. Keep up the great support, talk to you soon.

BTW, can we use splitters (I think that's what you call them) from say a Sentra SER or something on a "V"??? LMK

Stock Hood is 27 pounds!!! The CF rear hatch is 14 pounds this is without glass etc. just the shell and when I do the change over I will weigh both with glass etc..I have more info on the website. And the front hood just bolts on.....so takes half an hour to do the change with a coffee break. I'm letting my body shop do the tail gate so I don't know how long to do that one with the glass being the hardest part.
