I know that. It's not my first rodeo.versaspeed.com wrote:It lightens up the car and improves the power to weight ratio.
Difference of opinion I guess. "every bit" when it comes to adding a $600 part to a 'versa' for 'performance'.....nope. CF body parts on a DD or non performing car is (I'll be nice), contradictive.versaspeed.com wrote:Every little bit helps in the performance/gas millage arena!
Not trying to start anything... but how does saving 20-30 pounds from a hood do anything for power/mileage on a car that's around 3,000 pounds? I can understand in drag racing and such where people try to make their cars as lightweight as possible but they do much more than just throw on carbon fiber (no backseat, passenger seat, airbags, a/c, power steering, gutted interior, etc) but on a daily driver, it just seems to be all looks. Seems like dropping the spare tire (although not a good idea), losing plenty of weight, and always riding around with no more than half a tank of gas would have the same effect.versaspeed.com wrote:It lightens up the car and improves the power to weight ratio.

First off, I said DD. Secondly, Please stop the 'bragging' on how well your car handles. I've seen less than 6 of your posts, and it's getting old already. Thirdly, it's VERY simple: this is a Nissan Versa. It has no power. It is a commuter car. To try and make it a 'performance' car is commonly refered to as rice and is a good display of ignorance. If the OP and others feel the need to spend their cash on CF body panels, that's up to them. I simply asked why they wanted to do it (of which I've had no response aside from yours).versaspeed.com wrote:"Difference of opinion I guess. I'll be nice..........before you make statements like that why don't you come on out and see for yourself? And if you have a different car that you would like to bring that's okay and drive mine THEN make an opinion on "non-performing car" easy as that.
+1 I agree.Shad0wXCalibur wrote:

Ok....that's all I was looking for.superskunk wrote:i bought it is because i like the look
By drag racing do you mean on a track or on a street? And are you in a V when your doing this or do you have another 'race' car.ponygt65 wrote:Granted your racing preference is different than mine. You like road racing, I'm into drag racing. As I said in another thread, majority of youth in todays society go for drag racing. That is slowly shifting towards 'drifting', but the majority is still there. 'Most youth' make changes to their car and go out and try to race in a 'drag racing' type situation (roll or stop). Given that, I ask again, why use the CF stuff on a Versa.
I'm starting to think only a few keep in mind what these cars are and what they are for. To try and make a Versa look fast or 'appear' of a performance type vehicle is laughable. It's absolutely rediculous. Apparently people think any and every car is fast now-a-days. And THAT's actually what is killing sports cars and the heritage it once had. Everyone thinks a 15-16-17 second 1320' run is quick.
They would probably think they spent a lot of money making a really slow car, less slow.Skim302 wrote:And what if some one had a 20 second car and then made it a 15 second car? I bet they would think that it was quick
Yeah after they run out of gas.superskunk wrote:im sure with enough lengths we can take anyone... lol....
