No luck finding a company that makes a carbon fiber engine cover. I'm thinking of having one custom made, it's a little expensive but if there are others that would want one I think I can make it more affordable.
If you know of anyone that currently makes one for a 2012 3.5 please let me know.

Is it the same mounting for a 3.5 2009 cover?

sndtgr - yes it is the same as the 09. They haven't changed anything in that engine bay lol. You think they would, but nope.

The engine cover is actually better for the life of your coilpacks, wiring, etc underneath there. Keeps debris and stuff out of there. Although it's not overkill like a lot of lexus and hyundais. have you seen the engine bay of a lexus ls? it is COMPLETELY covered by plastic.

Awful quality Taiwanese junk.

Megan, D2, and BC are substantially the same. Which is why they were released at around the same time.

I would spend the extra $500 and buy Tein.

Go with Eibach springs if you want a quick drop, but just keep in mind they may cause your struts to wear out faster. Save up and get some coil overs if you're looking for a good adjustable drop.

Also, I want to say AIT makes an engine cover for our cars?

Don't know if AIT makes it anymore.

I have always used Tein S-Tech's, they give you a FULL 2in Drop (My M35Sport dropped a full 2 inches as well) and ride as smooth (if not smoother) then the OEM's.

I think the Eibach's are nice if you have 20in wheels and don't want to rub, but I have measured my friends G-37's it is only dropped it 1.1 inches vs the 1.4 they claimed. After a month we rechecked it and it settled at 1.2, not a huge diff, but if you pay for 1.4 you should get 1.4. The Tein S-Tech's were at 1.8 directly and have already settled at 2in after less than a week.......

I may buy the Tein C-O's (with Dampers) after everything else is fully modded (Y-Pipe,R-swaybar, endlinks, strutbar, UpRev, Spoilers, and Tail Lights).

But for now the Tein S-Tech's are 2nd to none (spring wise).

Please correct me if I am wrong, but that looks like a 4banger (2.5).
Per their Fitment guide, I am not sure how it could be compatible with the HyBrid, S, SL, SE. if it was for a v6...

Yup.

This is what the 3.5 cover looks like, and I dont believe that they ever made a CF one.

Actually, Bmore, AIT *does* make a CF engine cover specifically for the 3.5:

However, I was unable to locate the 2.5 (4-cyl) engine cover for the 2009 A/C on AIT's website :(

Oh man...it's like everyone just ignored my post! Type down NRG, they make a carbon cover, replica of the G35, for the 3.5 coupe. Unless I'm wrong on that. Would really like to see someone buy it and take a pic. Might take a jump on it whenever I have the fundings...

They may make a 3.5 but the pic is for a 2.5, even if they say 3.5 only, they should show the exact installed product.

My 2 cents...

I knew I hadn't read it wrong! When I looked it up, I knew I had specifically searched 3.5. However, when I tried to contact AIT by email about that engine cover, I never got a reply...

i'm assuming that you can't wrap the cover with a CF vinyl because of the heat. but has anyone tried? i'm kinda curious, it should melt but will it catch fire?

Yup, AIT pic is 2.5... Until I see it, I don't believe it exists from them

http://www.nissanraceshop.com/product/3 ... 35-carbe10

This is the only one that I could find on their site that is for a G35. It will fit the VQ35 of the 350z, but not our coupes. Fitment applications at bottom of page (not that you even need to look at that, the oil cap placement is on the opposite side on those cars)
