z3 fenders belong on a z3. Carbon fiber doors seem alright if you're a weight nazi.

Whenever i read or hear about CF doorsand such, is always custom, but you never kow, there might be some really small japanese tuning company that makes them. Zeros right, Z3 fenders beong on a Z3, and no, i havent seen any for a 240 (thank god)

i have only seen carbon fiber doors for the s15 and that is from a japanese company that is not sold here. hmm i am gonna go on a little thought of my own here.... it would be way rad to have a silvia(probably s14) with Msports FRP hood, fenders, and bumpers and then have some kind of carbon fiber doors also. that would be very lightweight. but then i would be so careful because 1 small hit to any part of the car would kill it.

Isn't carbon fiber supposed to be stronger than the steel it's replacing?

Well in some ways yes. But steel bends and dents, carbon fiber is soo rigid that it breaks.

yeah, carbon fiber has good rigidity...so for a driveshaft per say...it can hold MUCH more power...

but for a bumper...it'll snap crackle and pop when forced to do battle w/ common road debris at highway speeds (flys, pebbles etc.)

i'm exaggerating of course

SEARCH. Someone posted a link to the Japanese company a long time ago. At the time they were only available for S15...for a mere 750 a piece

importfan.com used to have a groupbuy on fiberglass doors, they used to have a CF hatch too

you can send them any car part and they can make it out of carbon fiber

Just know this:

people that don't know what carbon fiber is or used for often assume that parts that don't match the car (carbon fiber hoods on stupid "racers") look like people that got their doors, hoods, etc from a junkyard.

Ahh, now here is the important point. Had you mentioned this, maybe you would have gotten some different responses.

Why are you so quick to anger anyway? Things can be settled without resorting to name-calling and insults; especially things as trivial as this.

Ok here's the link http://www.hpi.co.jp they make cf doors for the s13 and the s15 and they're working on s14 doors from what they told me when I emailed them a long time ago. Anyway to answer about the whole cf thing...I have s14.5 b-road cf fenders on my car plus the oem s15 cf hood... and I'm gettin ready to order the trunk from raceonusa.com....jorge really hooks people up. They're a distributor for importfan gtp. I don't have the front yet cuz I don't care for the cwest and nismo styles in cf that they have . I'm waiting on the tbo s15 front in cf. Also there's this one company on ebay called orange sports they make cf stuff maybe you've seen them anyway I emailed them about doors and they said 700 a set plus shipping plus I have to ship them 2 doors... I have an extra set of s14 doors and they said I'd have to ship them to them...I would just leave them there cuz I don't need them..but they said if I could get 10 confirmed buyers then the price would drop . My email is [email protected] email me and I'll forward their response to whomever.

i wouldn't mind CF doors but how much per? The door seems really easy to make honestly. They didn't take the door part they just shelled it .

How much C/F does your car have on it? Did you paint it all or leave it C/F?

I left my front in cf just because I like it something about that weave at a stoplight that old people find odd and ask me about ...plus the silver silvias kinda set it off too...hehe....anyway I kinda revived this thread because I did post a cf door thread like 4 days ago but I can't find it ...seriously it disappeared...so I thought I'd just add on to one. Is anyone interested in cf doors or am I the only "weight" nazi ACHTUNG! "respect ma' autority!"- eh :ylsuper

How much differance in weight is it between the OEM and C/F?

I know of a few 350z's out west with alot of C/F on them as well. hood, hatch, full kit front/sides/rear. One is painted OEM color and another is not.
