its a dark royal purple colorthis pic is of my silvia before i disassembled it in japanit is *possible* that it was a factory color, because it is an 89, and there was a purple color available in 89... i havnt found out any other info on it besides that

but the engine bay, under carpet, and inside trunk were all black, but the entire door, including underneath the panel were all the same... so its a mystery

but either way, i had a local auto paing custom mix me some pearl PPG paint.. to repaint once ive rebuilt the silvia with the donor chasis (check out my sig for progress)they said it took 3 days of tiral and error to get the mix even close.. so im guaranteed to have a unique color if nothing else

i will probably be painting around christmas time, after i get the engine in and situated, and running

but theres no paint code for me to say like 'bmw 39d' or whatever

i say paint it, but leave the door jams unpainted so you see the cf when door is open. Or.. ive seen a nsx w/ cf everything, but painted the car, but have a fade when close to vents, i know theres no vents on the door, but you could fade around the edge of window or something.. iono, just tryin to be creative. nice coupe btw! love the purple!

Naked CF is rice. But if I may ask, why spend $1500 on doors? Are there not better ways to spend that? LOL

if your car was a lighter color, i would say leave it and get the hood and trunk to match with canards and splitters JGTD carbon mirrors etc..

but if you got a good paint shop around, you can get them to paint it in a couple light misted coats so you'll still see the carbon weave through the paint.. AMUSE did their 350z like this... and i have seen a couple attemps at getting it to look right on some carbon hoods..

Since it is already sealed, more than likely any painting will hide the weave pattern. You would need pre-preg CF w/o gloss/sealant and then paint it to get that effect. If I ever decide that I need to waste $500 on a hood, I plan on looking into doing it that way.

paint them

and those who are wondering about the color, my stock color was the same. it's nissan paint code TH1, and i can't remember the variant off hand, but i changed mine to TH1 - (LG) for a more metallic blue look. there's three variants, one a dull blue look, a metallic blue (sapphire blue pearl) and a purple/royal blue (royal blue pearl).

definatly paint it, exposing carbon fiber just makes your car more attractive to steal.

where have you seen them listed with subcodes? I have never seen that.. I've been looking now in both US and Japan FAST catalogs at the names on TH1 and while there are many variations none mention subcodes of any kind..

the doors are available from carbon innovation on ebayabout $850 to residential or business addresses

CF coupe trunk lids $663 + shippinghttp://store.yahoo.com/ntnsracing/cs-71trc.html

they show up on ebay pretty frequently too

'VIS' hatch = $360 on ebay

and if youre into hoods or fenders, most normal websites and ebay have them usually

ive actually found damn near every body panel on the s13 in carbon. doors, trunk/hatch, front and rear fenders, hood, both bumpers, etc. you could be awesome as hell and just do the whole car in carbon fiber to avoid having to paint it.

sorry for getting back after so long, it's in the PPG paint chip catalog. there's 3 paint chips as i mentioned, and i believe there's 6 variations on the computer. the PPG code for TH1 is 16884 i believe.

everything from the stock door rebolts onto the carbon onesfrom power windows, to interior panels and central door locks

honestly, ive had them for a few weeks now but only opened the box enough to verify they were intact, theyre still bubblewrapped

once i get home from vacation and get a chance, ill post up pics and stuff i may get them installed this year... unless i get a bug in my *** and go buy a beadblaster......

then everything else will be on hold while i rip apart everything and blast it, then all new bushings

...the fun part about that is i will end up with what amounts to a brand new car when all is said and done

(sidenote, i did go get that black ae86, so i have my little fun car while i build... and its a 30mpg go-kart .... i go the same distance on a tank of gas as my yukon, but costs $18 to fill instead of $60 (besides being more fun)

and im here on the east coast... gas is rediculous here, i saw $1.93 one place

it goes from $2.45-$3.60 for 87 out near me in california (3.60 not a typo, its a small town near nothing in the mountains)
