And no plenum removal and cleaning, nor TB, EGR and IAC valves, etc. Injector rail flush? Annual air and fuel filter changes? BG44K?rickymartinakasgk wrote: Still have sluggish 96 Q on hills....Infiniti service trying to sell me on a "MotorVac carbon clean system.About $130.00
Any truth to this stuff. No codes ever.maintainence on schedule 125k miles
Have you had the fuel pump replaced? It's probably due.rickymartinakasgk wrote: Still have sluggish 96 Q on hills....No codes ever.....maintainence on schedule,125k miles
I would much prefer the near lethal solvents of the BG rail flush to any steam in my fuel system.tkd_q45 wrote: SSC stated that it basically steam cleans the combustion chambers and valves.
Hey tech a/b how long and how much is the BG ISC fogging. I have a 95 that has 251K miles. I purchased it w/ 132K well maintained and I have done the same. Synthetic Mobil 1 oil, spark plugs changed, MAF cleaned, BG44K, throttle body cleaned, etc. Just curious b/c it sounds like something we may all need to look into aside from a complete plenum job.Q45tech wrote:The BG rail flush chemicals are mild compared to fogging BG ISC into the plenum................do outside and runaway or use oxygen mask............it will peel paint on shop walls near exhaust if done correctly.Luckily aluminum, valves, and rings are robust enough.
Until people look inside plenum with a flashlight they cannot comprehend the amount and sliminess of an uncleaned plenum interior.
I do mine every 2 years........when it's off for someother task.
The Maxima community has used it a lot with good results. Mostly via the brake booster line.AlabamaDan wrote:As for seafoam, I've used it in my Jeep and it's quite popular in the jeeper community. I've run 1/3 can through the brake booster line. It didn't smoke extremely bad. I guess that's good news. It idles much better and lower. I'm recluctant to run in in the crankcase because it might reveal any leaks that are there..
I am sure the tech was glad to find the cracked fan blade too,at that inflated cost! I bought that fan blade from our buddy Joe for $65,and installed it myself in less than 10 minutes-it is just a few bolts.alexander wrote:It cost $129.00 and the tech said older Q's would really benefit too. He's been at this Infiniti dealer since 1993 so I guess he knows his stuff.Glad he found the crack in the fan blade, that was 300 bucks, oh well cheaper than a new car if that plastic part blew off at 85mph
