I was looking at some of the posts on this subject, and I've found the manifold and stuff, but I'm curious about ignition. with the ecu gone, how would I get advance/retard? is there a compatible dist. from another engine, or did any of the ka series come with a distributor that equipped w/ vac. advance? I figured that if nismo offers the conversion parts, there's gotta be some way, right?

why on earth would you use carbs? If you have the manifold put some sports injection bodies on it.

I'm not sure if I'd really want to, but the manifold availability gets a million q's popping up in my head, and yes, aftermarket tb's were in that mess too. I'm just curious about the possibilities.

I am strongly against carbs in a situation where Fuel injection is an available option. A set of sports injection bodies hanging off the side of a KA would look very cool and would definately outperform the stock manifold and single throttlebody.

Yeah but the money and time you spend tuning up your KA for NA, I think you're gonna wish you went with boost. I'm going NA cause I have no money...boo hoo :)

agreed...the weber carbs you would have to run to utilize any of the power gains possible will cost far more than the TPI based posrt injection.

I would love to do a set of Sidedraft TB's on my KA24DE...

That would freak people out when you pop the hood...and the throttle responce would rock...

I want this setup...

and your picture looks like fuel injected with just side drafts for air intake meaning no mass air which is easily accomplished with stand alone management

my spelling sucks today:(

yup...That is it...

Arita Speed sells the system, It comes with everything and it's own ECU which uses a MAP setup to reploace the MAF

It can be yours for about... $2500

You know if a person looked hard enough he might find a nice set of Twin 44mm Mikuni's and a new Nismo intake for less than buying a retuned ECU. For the ignition you can use a MSD 6AL with your existing distributor. If you wan't spark advance then there are a couple of options with MSD. Set curve or adjustable. I have one thats has set curve. It works well with Nitrous setup because you can adjust it to retard the timing during boost.
