im in BC and AirCare is avehicle emissions testing program in Metro Vancouver

alright, so ive had my car for like 3 years. ive been driving it on and off and ive always had problems here and there with it. but none of them are big deal. i take off the battery terminal when i store it so it doesn;t drain the battery and when i go to start the car i reconnect it.

i bought one day insurance on it 3 months ago and failed. the car was shaking and rattling.3 months later i bought one day insurance which is today and ive changed the spark plug, cap, rotor and plugs and now it drives fine and doesn't rattle or shake. to try and pass air care again.

at night after every thing was changed plugs, caps, rotor and wires i took it for a drive and it booted up so smooth and nice. after the drive, i parked it out side overnight. in the morning i wanted to go pass air care... the car failed to start...tried boosting it, jumping it. and using some one else battery. thinking it was the battery. but its not.with the keys in the "acc" i turned it once. u can hear the fuel pump going..and then turned to "on" or "start" u dont hear a single thing... just like if the battery wasn't even plugged in.any clue what this problem would be?

thanks

does your starter click when you try to start it? try getting a starter button and test the starter directly and if that doesnt work them most likely you have a bad starter.

What do you mean? Does it crank? If it doesn't crank, it's probably the battery or starter. If it cranks and doesn't start, it probably something in the fuel supply system.

easiest is to test the battery and if it is good then test the starter. you can either take it out and have a shop test it or get a starter button and hook it up on the bat pos and the starter solinoid wire. if it cranks then you have a problem in the wiring but if not then then pull the starter cause its bad
