Ok i got my car back from the Nissan shop about 5 days ago because i had a bad injector. They replaced the injector and seals on all the injectors and steam cleaned the engine bay to get all of the leaked fuel off of my engine. It was running great . . . until last night i went to a friends house, i turned the engine off and tryed to lock the door... the door lock kept engaging but would not lock, it just kept sputtering. So i shut the door and opened it and it stopped making the sputtering noise. When i was i going to leave my car wouldnt start. I turned the key to accessory and my cd deck light kept flashing on and off. I tryed to start my car and it made one click noise and then nothing. I tryed starting it again and there was no sound...so i had my friend jump my car and finally after several trys it turned over and then started. I needed gas so i drove to the gas station and had my friend follow in case i had more issues. I got it filled and tryed starting the car, same thing happened...it wouldnt even turn over...so i pushed my car aside and jump started it, and it started right up...drove my car home without any problems, parked it and turned it off...tryed to start it again and NOTHING! so i took my battery out and it is charging???

Any ideas, suggestions, related incidents????

Thanks

sounds like a dead cell.. id replace the battery. might want to get your alternator checked too in case its not charging the battery. all this can be answered by a Charge-Start Diag. at pepboys $20

Ok i thought this solved the problem, but today i tryed starting my car and it just cranked over and never started. I noticed that the negative battery connection was very loose, loose enough to pull right off...i dont think this is the problem though because my car is cranking over...do you think its a fuel or spark issue??? I just had an injector replaced so im wonderin if that could have messed something else? A little later i tryed to start my car and it started right up???

it's very probable that this is the problem. the engine shakes on startup and jiggles that causing adverse contact problems. i say clean the terminals and tighten both terminals so that they dont move then by all means.. if that doesnt work.. then you can rule that out. also dont forget... it might just need a jump . if it needs a jump after you run it and the terminals are on tight.. then you might look into an alternator problem. gl

I would replace the battery. If you keep having to get jumped off,its because the battery is not holding charge. The alt. is probaly fine since you can jump it off and it will run fine, this means the car is primarly running off the alt.

Ok my car has been driving fine now for about a week and today it wouldnt start. It started the first try and got up to 400 rpm and then it slowly dropped and died. I tryed starting it again and it just sat cranking over. I checked to see if the battery was charged and it said it was fully charged. I think i am just gonna take it to the shop and have them look it over? Im thinking it could be a fuel issue? I checked the oil on the dipstick and it looked a little dark, it still has about 1,000 miles till i need a new oil change??? Do you think my fuel pump could be going out?

hey i'm having the same exact problem from starting then dying right away. now to just cranking and the engine isn't even shaking while cranking either. all thats happening is the car cranking nothing else won't fire up or anything after the car died. let me know if you figure it out!

i dont like the connectors nissan used on the pos batery i replaced those with fuseable link and soldiered all my connecctions. clean all the connections and a batery cable should never be loose enough to move at all. on the factory connectors ( cable ends ) i have found that when they get old they fit loosely even when the nut is tight , if you take the nut completly off and put a washer behind it a little larger than the bolt you can stretch the cable ends enough to tighten against the batery terminal. but if the car is spinning then battery or starter shouldn be the probl;em. unless its spinning slow.
