car wont start - spark plugs?

well my car was running fine yesterday before i went to work, then when i got out of work at 10pm my car was having a really rough idle and was shaking really bad... and now today it just wont start.

it makes a loud clicking noise (almost like a bbgun shooting)

my friend told me it might be the sparkplugs, so i changed it and its still doing the same thing.

any ideas?

is it turning over, it sounds like your starter or solenoid is bad

okay.. well i was doing some searching on the forums and someone mentioned that, it was doing the same thing mine was doing due to a low battery. so i jumped my parents car with mine and it started. i left it running for about 30mins and turned it off but now its totally dead and all my power is out except for the clock.

i jumped it again.. and it started but as i turn off the engine, its the same thing.

isn't the battery suppose to have some power left even after the engine is off due to the alternator charging it? or is my battery totally mesed up?

the alternator is supposed to keep a fully charged battery fully charged, not really charge it up. try using a dedicated battery charger, and also, your alternator may be bad
