car wont start(sometimes) help?

hey all i have a 91 240sx fastback and every once in a while( and happens more when its cold) when i try to start the car it will make the clicking sound as if the solenoid for the starter is clicking but it won't start unless i try to start continuosly, multiple times. its not like the motor is cranking and not starting its just that clicking sound... it sounds electrical cuz the motor runs fine. anyway i bought new terminals for the battery cuz it was all worn and even cracked( thinking it was a bad ground) and that got better for awhile but now its back. i dont know wat to do?

its your starter, I had the SAME exact problem, i changed the starter+solenoid and my problem went away.

wow thats exoensive then huh.. the starter...also if i replace the starter will i need to replace the solenoids also?

how easy is it just a bolt on deal or what else is involved?

starter is pretty easy to get to from underneath. once it's up on stands it shouldn't take more than an hour or so.in the meantime when it sticks on you like that.you can bang on it with something heavy to get it going.

bang on the solenoid( i think theres 2)... near the transmission right? any chance anyohne have a pic of what i need to bang on?

or roll start the car if your on a hill... lol
