I was driving around and turned the car off and now it wont turn back on. The car would not even crank, the starter is good since I tested it by giving direct power to the battery to the starter. I have no clue what it is.... I thought it was my alarm so I disabled my alarm but still the same thing. When I turn the ignition, the temp gauge goes up to normal but nothing else works. Lights dont flick or anything. Just doesnt crank and dont start.... PLEASE HELP!!!

check the battery. Put a charger on that beast and make sure all connections are tight. It the battery is good i would check the starter solenoid.

If your lights/hazards interior etc doesn't work power related doubt starter.(also since you tested the starter, and it works fine, other way tapping starterwill cranking sometimes it gets stuck )Battery-If you get a jump start let it run for a while. Then turn on everything if there seems like a power loss either dying battery/alternator not charging battery.(If you have a voltmeter you can eliminate things)Dunno what year you have and if anything was replaced can eliminate things. Associate of mine had a 91 motor, stock starter/alternator died within a 2 month period.

Its not the starter.... its most likely some kind of electrical problem... and there is no power loss or anything like that so its not the battery. If it was the alternator, it would still start up right away if I turn the car off and turn it right back on right? But it doesnt.

Perhaps something is not grounding correctly?

I know I had a very similar problem a few months ago and also thought it was my alarm (or my fog lights, or my subs, or something). Basically no crank even though battery was 12v.

Here's what I did:- Completely removed alarm just for the hell of it to make sure,- removed all harnesses for my hid lights, fog lights, subwoofers, etc from connection to the main battery terminal- remove the negative battery terminal and let it stay off the car for a few minutes to let everything reset

Amazingly that last step was what allowed my car to start again. I later figured out it had to do partially w/ my alarm system (bad relay) and partially with the way I connected some of the harnesses to the battery (not good enough connection and some of the harnesses were not grounded correctly).

Hope that helps

p.s. And don't forget to send money for the steering wheel so I can ship it out already!
