K i have a 89 240sx with the SOHC KA24E in it and today i was cruising on the highway and went to shift into 4th from 3rd. The car wasnt trying to hear it and made a lound sound almost exactly like when you miss a gear. The car stalled out and i heard a pop when i tried to step on the gas. Now its trying to turn over but its like i have no spark. I turn the key and dash and everything come on but no ignition...Any ideas?

Ok the fuel pump seems to be working and i know i have power in the car cause the dome light and dash lights still work. The car is cranking just no ignition. I pulled the wire from the coil to the distributor to see if it had spark and didnt see anything but i wouldnt trust myself anyway lol... Anyway someone told me the pop i heard may have been the timing chain ****ing up...Any help?

lol I just replaced the ignition coil and its still not starting...Looked at the distributor rotor and everything seems fine with that. Could this be spark plug problems? Anybody please feel free to chime in! Its getting lonely in here and im starting to go crazy not being able to drive my 240

take the valve cover off...check the timing chain....we can't diagnose it from here

use a circuit tester to see if ur dist. is sending power to the plugs, but since u changed ur ignition coil i'd just get a new cap and rotor....

I checked all the fuses with the circuit tester and it lit up on all but 2 ( fuel pump and engine cont) but i replaced them and still nothing so does the car have to be on or cranking to test them? The car has new spark plugs new coil is getting fuel and plugs are sparking so im outta ideas
