car wont start.. code 14 please help.. searched

so i have had my 240 for about two weeks now and it has ran perfect since i got it. it is a 93 with a KA24DE. just today i had to redo some wiring for the head light because it was no longer getting power. once i was done with that i went to start my car and it hesitated for a second. i then started to drive it and after a few minutes it started to sputter and the more gas i gave it the harder it would hesitate. once i turned it off it will no longer turn on but it will just crank. i checked all fuses, metered power (11.5V while cranking) did the screwdriver in the plug wire test and saw a slight spark and checked my ECU codes. i get 14 which i guess is VSS. since i had the car the speedo never worked but didnt seem to cause a problem. would the VSS be the problem or is that unrelated. aslo does anyone have any suggestions as to why it wont start all of a sudden. thanks for your help and i will love you for every if you know whats wrong.

hmmmmm, first thing i'd check would be battery level when it is off... maybe u popped the alternator fuse & now ur battery is drained...

well the battery seems fine because it cranks like crazy i even put some cables on it with my buddies car. i also did a continuity test on all fuses and they all read fine

i also just noticed that once my car is sitting for a little while it must lose power for a second because my deck keeps resetting

check battery ,load test it.check all fuses,check all relays. if you get it to start check charging circuit,sounds like you may have a bad alternator, probably quit on you and motor ran on battery power until it drained it , now you cant start it because battery is low on juice.keep it simple..

what is code 14? is that vehicle speed sensor? I'm having the same issue...my car is sitting on the drive way ...which relay would it be?
