I had my car out of order for about a month. I have everything that was needed to be fixed, but now the car will not start, not even a crank. At first i thought it was the battery, So i threw on the charger. After having charged for a night and a day. It still won't crank, not even a sound. So I automatically thought it was the starter. My friend told me the jump the starter to the battery, and it should crank. Just as he said i jumped the starter, as expectly it cranked, but would not turn over. I am head over heels on this one. Could someone tell me what the curprit is, and how I could fix it? '95 Nissan 240SX, 125,000ish miles.

check relays and fuses, Check connection to starter. If all else fails, try roll starting. Push your car down a little hill while your ignition is in the on position. Push you clutch in and put it into first gear while it's rolling, let off the clutch and your car should start.

yeah, you need to know if the starter is getting the signal or not. got a test light? put it on the little plug in wire on the starter. then have someone turn to start while you watch. if no signal the first place i would look is the clutch interlock/inhibitor relay. it looks like two normal nissan relays melted together. it has two plugs under it. they go bad a lot.

Hey s13sr20chris can you help me out? Where is the clutch interlock/inhibitor relay at? If your talking about the starter relay I replaced that and the car still doesn't turn over or crank or now even click. I replaced starter, fuel pump, and relay and still nothing. How would I jump start the starter? Ive been searching/reading and I can't find any answers.

Do you have aim? Thanks!

nope, no aim. interlock relay is sometimes called starter relay. its the funny looking blue relay with two connectors coming out the bottom. you want to test for batt voltage at both terminals of the starter(the big ones). you can jump the two big terminals with a screwdriver to diag a bad solenoid or signal circuit.

Hey thanks for the help s13srchris, the test light helped, I got a signal but I could manually jump the starter and found out the wire from the starter to the battery was bad. Took me some time searching around the boards =)
