So I did a 5 speed swap about a year ago and the car was running fine but I was due for emissions and I had to get a different ECU since the one I had been using was the stock A/T ECU and I needed the M/T ECU in order to pass. So I got one pulled from another 98 and I swapped it, it plugged in a everything fit but now the car will not start. It cranks but wont start. Any ideas on what could be going wrong? I dont want to automatically assume that I bought a non working ECU. thanks

Id say you bought a non working ecu....if you want to double check, you could see if there is a difference in the pinouts for the auto and manual ecu. But I doubt there is any difference.

umm actually there is a difference on the auto one is the ODB diagnostic on the manual its the 5th gear or neutral Pos sensor or something like that lol you can tel if ecu is bad by the light on the back of it but i dont rem exactly sorry for the lack of info just woke up i did a full auto to manual swap along with ECU exchange had to wire up the Neutral Pos Sensor and the 5th Gear sensor
