So i turn my key to turn the car off doesn't do anything car stays on and all my dash lights stay on. If i stall the car all the dash lights still stay on. Now i have to disconnect my battery so my car doesn't die every time i turn it off. What can this be?? I am seriously so confused. I was thinking ignition or a relay but someone give me some ideas please. t.y

Sounds like a electrical problem.....ha, I would suspect the ignition for sure. maybe it has a short. Try taking the cover off the column and wiggle some of the wires going to the ignition and see if anything changes.

my mind is trying to work. check and see if you can turn the ignition on with a screwdriver(obviously dont crank on it hard). If it turns easy then something is probably binded up in the ignition. ps i have one more post than you

try to use a flathead as it were the key. Just put it in there a little ways and see if it turns easy. dont force it! hmm maybe this doesnt make sense, what im saying lol. I would think even if something was bound up in the ignition that the contact points would still change when you turn the key.

no remote start, my ignition lets me pull the key out even if the ignition is in the on or started positions. It probably will start with a screw driver

im sure. mine used to fall out around corners to the left lol. one time it fell out and I couldnt find it. looked like a idiot cause i couldnt turn the car off. were you always able to pull key out on the on pos. or just since this problem? at any rate, get yourself a new ignition ASAP. dont want the z stolen.

it will come with a key. but you should be able to bring it to a locksmith and they can re-key the tumbler so it matches your current key.
