car wont run after installing intercooler

so i installed my intercooler yesterday and went to start it and its puffing out black smoke runing rich and motor shakes really bad the only thing i did was intercooler and small battery what could be my problem

Do you have it connected to the exhaust?

Double check everything.

Make sure all your connectors are tight and aren't leaking.

I have no idea why you would be running rich after installing an intercooler though.

Are you running a bov? If so, is it vented or recirculated?

you have a gnarley vacuum leak somewhere....if you didnt mess with anything else...its the only thing it could be...

check couplers and piping and such for leaks...thats what it is

a vacuum leak will cause the ECU to compensate fro moar air even if it really not needed...hence the rich condiditon

i have doubble cheak every thing a few times i have a bov not resuculated but it has been on the car for a year already so i know its not that my air to fuel gauge says 10.2 at idle i havnt even drove it out of the garage yet

cheaked all vacume lines again anything that i touched with the inter cooler i went over cheaked every thing re tightend all the clamps still nothing so i cheaked my codes and it came up as 12 witch is maf so i cheaked all the wiring on that and cleaned out the connector and took cabel of the battery for about 5 min to reset the ecu and cheaked codes before i started the car and code 12 come up before i start the car wont it only detect a code once the car has been runnig

its got to have a leak somewhere man.....what youre describing is a vacuum leak and it makes sense since you just installed an intercooler...

did you change mafs as well?? dont know why your maf would s*** the bed when you changed the intercooler....

ya i dont re-read my stuff i know i should since im explaning stuff. but ya changed out my maf sensor with another one and the car work so i donno wtf happened there. its fixed now even tho i never touched that maf. took the car for a drive and works good.
