Car wont rev past 4k, wont idle, spitting coolant into resivoir, has a lot of gunk build up in cooling system, also hard to put into 1st gear, if i dont hold the gas it shuts off, it isnt the maf sensor and the timing should be okay. running very rough, idk what to do. should i redo the timing? and also, my blow off valve is on the left pipe coming from the intercooler, shouldnt it be on the right? please help, i am new to this whole sr thing.

Coolant temp sensor could be going on you. Check the thermostat, flush the coolant system, check your mechanical timing as well. You might have several things going on at once. The sr20det stock came with the BOV being on the turbo side of the car. People can argue all day about putting it on the intake side, but I've seen them on both sides with no problems.

I will check my temp sensors and thermostat tomorrow, i really hope it isnt the head gasket, i didnt see any oil in the coolant or any coolant in the oil. also the car may have bad gas, would that cause it to run like that? and should i change the gas filter?

If the car has been sitting for awhile, I'd use a siphon to get the rest of the gas out, or remove the canister from the gas tank to scoop the rest out. Changing the gas filter would be a good idea, but I don't think that may be the problem.
If you think it has to do with fuel you can check the tank for rust and debris. Look to see if the fuel pump sock is dirty as well.

I think I would pressure test that cooling system
