So yesterday I'm driving home all of sudden I hit the gas and the car wont move. I add some gas and now were moving again. I noticed that while pressing the gas that is sounds as though it wants to move but wont accelerate until its reaches right under 2000 rpm. When I get home I park up and leave it for about an hour. Start it back up and go around the corner and everything runs perfect. This morning I leave for work and everything is good. About 15 mins into driving the same thing happens.

First issue I've had with the car so its a little confusing as to what could be the issue as I don't know anyone else who has had this issue.

I drive a 07 M35x with 96XXXX

Any thoughts of what could be causing this??

Thanks in advance

Welcome to the forum.

I'm going to move this thread to the right sub-forum (you posted in the 2011+ M forum) and hopefully one of our more knowledgeable members can help you out. I'd start with checking your transmission fluid level. Also, are there any check engine lights, etc. on your dashboard that lit up when this happened? I'd check that too.

X2 the last post and run for trans codes.

You may have a hydraulic fail going on there but might be something simple like a solenoid issue. Do NOT slip it excessively or you'll fry the clutchpacks and then it's new trans time. Many ATX clutchpacks will die in less than a minute of true partial apply slippage.
