car wont give me my key :(

i need help you guys. my car wont give me the key back. i just got my car out of the shop cuz the alt was all funky(brand new too) and got everything with that fixed. but now i cant get the key out. i used to have a problem with the trans not going into park, but thats gone now.this is pissin me off cuz i need to get to work in 30 min. ive checked all the fuses and they are fine, the key lock line thing is fine too i think. it wont move if i move the shifter so maybe thats ****ed somehow. has anyone had this probem before? does anyone know how i could fix this? the beeping is so anoying. please help. the car is a 95 SE.

I promise you, it has to do with the shifter not being in park. Whether it's a problem with the shifter, or a problem with the line, it's in there somewhere.

i had that problem. you can take the cover circle lookin thing where the key goes off and if you look closely there should be a gold (mine was gold) or little tiny metal flap that can move up or down. push it up and the release button should work now allowing to take the key out. i just stuck a little piece of paper underneath the flap and never had any problems with it yet. give it a shot and let me know if it helps.

just move the shifter back and forth until you hear a click then try taking the key out.
