Maybe explain this a little. Do you mean that the starter turned the motor a full turn before stopping, or that you manually turned the motor over by turning the crank shaft from under the hood, then it stopped?
If the engine physically will not turn, that's not too good. Have you ever heard this engine running?
If the motor is free to turn and the starter is good, but the starter won't turn the engine over, check your electrical connections. Starters require significant power to turn over the engine. Loose cables (positive and ground) can cause the starter to receive less than adequate power.
Just some thoughts.
