I bought an ashspec ECu upgrade for my car a few months ago. My only other mods are a pop charger and borla cat back. After the installation, the car wouldnt boost beyond 7psi. The car wasnt throwing any codes and i checked the fuse for the boost solenoid and it was fine. I sent the ECU back, thinking that the circuit that controlled the boost solenoid was bad on that particular ECU. With the new ECU, i had the same problem as before. I removed the wire for the boost solenoid from the ecu connector and grounded it out, the car boosted to 14-15 psi just as it should. My question is what would cause this to happen? I would really prefer to not keep the wire grounded out, even if it's not hurting anything.

Do you have boost jets installed? any codes? Sorry I can suggest more, I've always ran EBC.

Boost jets are installed. The car isn't showing any codes.

Could it be that the stock solenoids have bit the big one?

I'm not sure, would that throw a code or not? As I said in the op, the car boosts fine with the wire for the solenoid grounded out.

No clue man all I can do is point you to the FSM. ^ this points to a short issue in the wire or bad connection between solenoid and stock boost controller/ECU.

Do you know if keeping the wire grounded out will harm anything? The car runs perfectly fine, af ratio looks good. It just bothers me that I have a wire grounded out, even tho I'm the only one that ever sees it. lol.

Like I said dude i don't know much about the stock boost control system since I installed a EBC when I did my swap and threw all the stock BC components in the trash.

Are you sure your ECU has the ability to control those solenoids?

I paid the core charge for the first ecu, then had my old one reflashed after the first ecu didn't work. I find it hard to believe that both ECUs would malfunction in the same way....
