I just finished installing a clutch and flywheel on my car (91 240sx). But, the car won't start.... the starter doesn't turn over at all. I checked all my wiring I unpluged and they are fine. Please help.... I don't know what could have caused this.

Thankskorney

Hold the key in the start position and tap the starter with a heavy object, hammer or pry bar. If it starts it's in the starter. Double check and make sure all grounds are hooked up. At times the solenoid develops an open curcuit and tapping the starter makes the connection internally and the starter starts. If this is the case replace the starter it may quit when you least need it to.

I had a problem with my starter just recently..... I tried a couple of different starters and it didn't help any ..... I could hear the solenoid kicking out but the motor wouldn't turn. I found out that there was only about six volts going to the starter solenoid.... which isn't enough. So I setup a bandaid fix and put a relay going to it from the battery. I haven't had any problems yet
