car won't stay running, dies on throttle

hey all,car was running fine and yesterday i parked to get some food, came back out and it wouldn't start...eventually i got it to start and it will idle pretty roughly, but it dies as soon as i give it any gas...i had a similar problem when i first put the engine in, which turned out to be the maf, but now if i unplug the maf it dies immediately....possibly fuel pump?
