Car won't stay running....ahh..

alright so i have a '92 240sx with the ka24de...i haven't been driving it for a few months because of my suspended license...but now that i'm gettin it back in a few weeks i'm starting to get it in running shape again...anyways. so my car turns over and starts fine like a champ....but it will idle around 900 rpms for about 5 seconds then it will start struggling and die.. but..for some reason i decided to take my maf off, and it will start and stay running...idling at about 1000 rpms... i switched out mafs but same problem..any ideas where to start? im not throwing any codes..

Bad gas, oil?

You let it sit for a while, those might be a few things to check.

The EXACT same thing happened to my s13. Well no update as of now. I went ahead and took it to a great mechanic friend of mine. Assuming he fixes the problem (which he probably will), I'll write to you as to what he did. ...........the only thing i can possibly imagine is bad gas cuz my car didn't start doign that until a day after i bought some premium gas from a local exxon.

thanks man..its really pissing me off! ahha and i'm checking everything i can think of...i haven't chekced to see if its bad gas yet...but yeah i'll keep updates of what i find too

Any time a car is sitting for a long time, check gas, oil and other liquids because condensation builds up quickly..

I'm not sure..but...well if u run out of oil, the piston cant move up and down freely in the cylinder, and the engine will just stop working.

i think...maybe its because your crankshaft to cam shaft ratio is off?piston rings are worn out?gaskets breaking down?water mixed in with gas...gas can't burn properly..?
